  1. This is in continuation to my efforts to show some vintage Indian unseen/unknown/forgotten brands. I have already listed the first few pens a few days back here Today I have selected a Cartridge Pen, called Ricoh Catrofill. I do not know much about this brand too. Its evident that this pen was available in mid 90's and there is no much record of this brand. The Ricoh pens seems to be marketed by Thakkar Pen Mart of Mumbai...since the box says Bombay, I feel this box could be of 1995 or prior. An old Ricoh box The 1995 box The Label in the 1995 box...note the address Bomaby The pen- catrofill- A cartridge Pen! The Branding on cap The Nib branded Catrofill The Pen dismantled- Note the space provision in section for holding the cartridge.. I hope you enjoyed the post as much as I liked the pen...Thanks for looking
  2. Hello FPN, This is Pranav from Mumbai, India. It too me long to get this message up in this forum, well better late than never! I really don't remember how i got into this amazing different world all together, i always wondered whenever i read about random FP Blogs how can people be so passionate and the statement that its a priceless possession for lifetime! - something that started from filling my dad's old Hero FP just to experience its charm, from what i have had been listened to him since i don't know when. Somehow after going thru articles i managed to ordered a Pilot Metropolitan in this new year and suddenly with few months time i am having a few handful of FPs from Ranga, Airmails, Lamys, Jinhaos - with a few different Pelikan, Pilot, Camlin Inks! The ink stains don't wanna come off now, I can say the same now - its got me bugged - Until Death Do Us Part! Thanks for Welcoming!
  3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows where can I get dip pens and India ink in Mumbai (or Thane and Navi Mumbai) areas? What are they known in the Hindi/Marathi, I am mean I am pretty sure India Ink isn't called as such :-) Thanks! Abhishek
  4. Hi All I was wondering if anyone here knows a place from where I could pick up a wax seal stamp or get one made to order? I am looking for a simple stamp with an initial. I live in Mumbai, India, so a shop in Mumbai would be preferable. An alternative would be a seller in India who is willing to take orders on the web or by e-mail/phone. I know I can get this off the internet on ebay or from other sellers who ship internationally to India. I did buy one from a seller based in China who shipped the item, but it never arrived. The issue has been resolved amicably with the seller accepting that the item was lost in transit. I am loath to try the same thing again, hence this query. I would really appreciate any help in this regard. Thanks in advance. Sudhir

  7. Hello, I am new to the world of fountain pens. I've recently bought a couple of Jinhao X750 pens. Those two were the last ones in stock. I'd like to add some more to my collection but not able to find any shop selling them. I've checked online as well. Online shops sell them at a much higher price (At a retailer a x750 costs around 250/- but online shops sell them for around 600-1200/- each). Does anybody know shops in mumbai which sell Jinhao pens?
  8. Pelikan has this year selected two cities in India as Pelikan Hub. New Delhi being a new entrant and also Mumbai being the other. Pelikan Hub is meet where all are welcomed and it happens all around the world on the same date, making it one of a kind of a event. And an amazing initiative by none other than my favorite pen manufacturer PELIKAN. I am glad that pelikan has chosen me hubmaster for New Delhi this time. All the interested people are welcome to the event. And pelikan sponsors certain gifts to all the participants. For that each interested person has to register by clicking on the link : PELIKAN HUB. So that Pelikan as an organization can make necessary arrangements for the gifts. All pen lovers are welcomed and invited. Request all in India to goto link and register for either of the cities before 30th July. Date : 25th September Venue : To be Decided

  13. I was going through the pen box and saw a few pens that I had picked up from many Mumbai stationery shops. These were from the mid-1990s to early 2000s when I had a field job and had to traverse through all parts of Mumbai. I popped into every pen shop as a habit and picked up whatever I liked. While there are many pens, I want to start with these three which were clearly inspired by the Aurora 88 contemporary pen. I have a couple of Senator pens and another Flair pen that were inspired by the Pelikan M200 and M400. I will post those pictures too. I got these in local stationary shops in Mumbai for prices in the $8 to $12 range in local currency. I have tried very hard, but have not been able to get any more of these - even at the same shops. Most shops these days carry chinese pens like Baoer and Jinhao. All of these are piston-fillers with nib & feed units that screw out. All of these have steel nibs that are uncalibrated, but write a Fine to Medium-Fine line. The age clearly shows on these pens as for a long time, these pens were ignored and kept in "less than perfect" conditions. From Left to Right: Orchid Black with Gold accents, Orchid Blue with Steel Cap and Gold accents, Flair President Black with Gold Accents. I have another Flair President, but the nib-feed section is broken as is the piston. The Orchid pens came as sets of Fountain pens and ballpoint pens. The Flair President Orchid with Blue Body The Black Orchid Hope you liked this.
