  1. From the album: Odds and ends

These are the two types of containers, of which I've bought hundreds, for ink sample giveaways. On the left, nominally 1.8ml sample vials, which can in fact hold in excess of 2.1ml of ink, with removable and replaceable threaded caps in different colours. Under each cap is an O-ring, which is just about the right size to fit around the section threads on a Preppy, On the right is 1.5ml centrifuge tube. The hinged lid can be re-closed several times, after which I expect the thin strip of plastic may tear or break along the crease. For sending the equivalent of one or two

    South Korea Ink Sample Exchange

I've slowly been discovering fountain pen users one by one here in South Korea and I was wondering if there was any interest in exchanging ink samples/supplies/etc among those of us in the country. Ink sample vials can be easily purchased on Gmarket and shipping should be fairly cheap. Of course if you live in the same city, you can exchange in person. Anyone interested?
  8. So I just bought a Lamy Safari and converter - first FP ever. The first ink up was with an ink sample I got from Goulet - Sargasso Sea. Beautiful! But, when filling the pen up I absolutely could not figure out how to get much ink in at all. In my attempts to do so I spilled a good bit down the ol' sink. I'm wondering if there is a "method" to filling these babies up from the sample vials. I did a forum search for this and there appears to be solutions, but not ones that work for my Lamy Safari. I don't believe I could do the eye dropper thing since it has to go through the little hole on the fe
