Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

My master - plan is to prepare comparison of full line of Nagasawa-Kobe inks. Not an easy task as they're not the most obtainable inks on the market, but hopefully I'll manage to do it :)

At the moment Nagasawa-Kobe offers 52 inks:

Kano Cho Midnight looks well and it feels amazing. It gives a feel that you write with silk.

Thanks for the review Vis. My No 1 Kobe ink. It looks and feels so sumptuous. Sometimes inky blue, other times deep dark black-blue; gorgeous. The green-silver edges on letters are just beautiful.

I like this one a lot.

Another that feels great is Kobe Ur Lapis, which prompts me to ask... are you gonna review the limited edition Kobe inks, too? :D

ok who has Umeda Night blue from delta we may have to do a comparison, I'm not sure about Shousaikan's Seiran

I have compared this against Usagiya Kojima Denim and they're indistinguishable to me.

Seiran is a bit lighter. I might have swabs...

Don't blame you. That's a very nice ink too :)

Thanks for the review. This one looks very interesting.

There was a thread where someone was looking for an attractive blue-black, and this one definitely fits the bill, IMO.

And my bottle has arrived! :)

I ordered it from Atsu in Japan Saturday morning at 1:30 am (CET), and it arrived on my desk in Sweden today (Thursday) at 9:15 am.

5 days from order until I have the goods in my hand is excelent service, to say the least!

Now I just have to empty one of my pens to be able to try the ink.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
