It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956. Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor. http://imageshack.com/a/img908/7578/dtzhVS.jpghttps://kobe-nagasawa.co.jp/ My master - plan is to prepare comparison of full line of Nagasawa-Kobe inks. Not an easy task as they're not the most obtainable inks on the market, but hopefully I'll manage to do it At the moment Nagasawa-Kobe offers 52 inks:Rokko GreenPier BlueOld Foreigner Ward SepiaKitano Foreigners Residence RedEast Asia BlackKobe BordeauxKaikyo BlueArima AmberSuma PurpleMikage GreyIkuta OrangeOkamoto PinkNunobiki EmeraldMaya LapisMaiko GreenNada BrownShioya BlueSannomiya PanseMinatogawa LimeMotomachi RougeTaisanji YellowShinkaichi GoldNagata BlueNakayamate BlackTarumi ApricotWadamisaki BlueKounan MaroonSuzuran GreenSuma Kaihin BlueOoji CherryKaigan Stone GreyTamon Purple GreyRikyuu Moon YellowSourakuen Tea GreenSuwayama Leaf GreenSakaemachi IndigoMinatojima Island BlueKitanozaka Night BlueKobe BrickSumiyoshi BrownSuma Rikyu RoseRokko Island SkyGakuen Toshi Fresh GreenSumaura Seaside BlueHashibuse Silhouette GreenNagisa Museum GreyAoya Cascade GreenSuidousuji Marchais BlueKitano Olive GreenKyo-machi Legend BlueKano-cho Midnight Shioya Vintage SepiaThank you Cyber6 for a sample Kounan Maroon is the ink I have a history with. I used to have two bottles of it but then I sold them. Now that I'm working on the full line comparison and received the sample I must admit I like it again. I'm not sure whether it's that much better than Oku-yama but in broad nibs this ink looks pretty rich. The color could be called Old Mauve but, let's be honest and less poetic, it reminds wine dregs quite a bit. The behaviour is great. I may consider buying it again once it becomes available again. I'm not sure yet though. Barkingpig
This review could open a "new topic;" Inks I have & sold (or given away, etc) & later "changed my mind" to purchase again! As always a very tempting review. Edited November 8, 2015 by Barkingpig
lgsoltek
I thought you've reviewed this one before? I could have mistaken though... Anyway this one is not bad. I like mine. All my inks, with ink splash and links to my reviews
episkey
WOW! I think I like this ink.... I've only tried one other Kobe ink (Minatogawa Lime) and I immediately fell in love with it... I definitely want to try more Kobe inks, but they are hard to find.
Cyber6
WOW! I think I like this ink.... I've only tried one other Kobe ink (Minatogawa Lime) and I immediately fell in love with it... I definitely want to try more Kobe inks, but they are hard to find. Actually.. of all the Sailor exclusive inks... this is the easiest to find. Drop a line to Atsu (ebay: cool-japan) and he will get you all set up. Great review Vis!!! C. **** BauerInks.ca ******** MORE.... saskia_madding
The pictures look a lot more purple than the bottle I got was. I like the colour in your reviews, but I sold my bottle of this ink and I don't regret it. http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/261536-about-my-reviews/
eyesa
Nagasawa-Kobe (Sailor ink) has 52 colors? And you're going to do a review for each? Thank you!I'll certainly stay tuned for the rest. This Kounan Maroon is a stunner, (to my eye.) Sadly, I wish it had some water resistance. Thanks for the beautifully done review!
