Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

My master - plan is to prepare comparison of full line of Nagasawa-Kobe inks. Not an easy task as they're not the most obtainable inks on the market, but hopefully I'll manage to do it :)

At the moment Nagasawa-Kobe offers 52 inks:

Mmg112 has sent me some crazy amount of samples of different inks and guess what? Nagasawa some Kobe inks were among the samples. Thank you mmg112!

Let's take a look at no 3 Old Foreigner Ward Sepia. The color is stunning. Yes, I know, sometimes it may look almost as blacj but when can I say. Strong, earthy browns witg great lubtication are my thing. This ink rocks! I need a bottle.

Thanks. What a beautiful ink.

I'm on my 3rd bottle. This color is addictive!

Edited to add that Ink of the Witch is so close between this color and #9 purple that it's hard to tell them apart without strong daylight.

This one is too dark for me. I'll stick to Iroshizuku Tsukushi when I want a dark brown with shades of lavender.

I'm looking forward to your reviews of this line, though.

This color reminds me a bit of Noodler's Manjiro Nakahama Whaleman's Sepia. I'm presuming that it's much better behaved than NMNWS (it wouldn't have to try very hard -- loved the color but the ink just would NOT flow until it was diluted with distilled water).

Thanks for the review. And not thanks. This is one I'd like to get my hands on at some point....

Thanks for the reminder about how nice this ink is. I haven't used it in an age so I'll ink up a pen with it today :-)

Wow, that's pretty water resistant.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Wow. One of the Kobes I don't have. And I should. Especially since my family spent some time in Kobe's "Foreigner Ward" before, during and after WWII...

Too many pens; too little writing.

from the word 'sepia', i was expecting a much lighter colored ink. but it has a very nice muted shade of dark brown. quite unique in comparison to other sepia inks in the market.

EDIT: Sorry about resurrecting the thread, I commented without thinking!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
