Sailor Kobe # 50 Kyo-Machi Legend Blue

Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

Mmg112 has sent me some crazy amount of samples of different inks and guess what? Nagasawa Kobe inks were among the samples. Thank you mmg112!

Let's take a look at no 50 Kyo-Machi Legend Blue as I enjoy this color. The ink looks fress, especially when used in broad and wet nib. I believe Napalm's reviewed it some time ago in fine nib and the color wasn't as nuanced as with broader nib. There's also Gylyf review you definitely need to check. Each one of us uses different pens and papers, so the color differs.

Ink behaviour is flawless.

Souten might have less green than this ink, judging from these photos.

My impression of this ink is that it's darker, at least after it's sat in the pen awhile.

I'm inclined to agree with you. The shading in Souten is also more pronounced, more saturated, in my experience.

For what it's worth, my #50 looked very different from this. It had no green at all and was a straightforward (and kind of boring) mid-blue:

You're right, this does look more like Gogh Cobalt, which is another beautiful, complex color. I've gotten a lot of pleasure using it in a large Sailor 1911 with a Naginata Togi medium nib.
