I am deeply intrigued by the grey purple combination of the Caran d'ache Ultra Violet and there are only two reviews of it in FPM. Besides the lamenting over price comparisons to the previous line that apparent,y is no longer available I would like to have additional opinions on this ink. Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone could review Pilot Red? (the basic ink which comes in up to 350 ml bottles) for a cheap ink I couldn't find any reviews... I will be ordering it soon but I don't think I'm good enough to review an ink, and would appreciate anyone who has the ink to give a review :) Thank you!

You are plenty good to do a review. The important thing is to just do it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I have a whole bunch of Scribes and I like them. I don't have that one.

"Beaufort Inks" in Scotland have just realised six new inks. They specialised previously in rollerball refills, pen kits, nibs, blanks. To my eye, some of them look a bit Sailor Jentle or Pilot like. Would love to see a review of these.

Obsidian Black, Blue Black, Zodiac Blue, Peacock, Scots Pine, Roasted Red

Krishna Earth.

I have this one inked up. If you PM me with your address I'll also send you a letter. I'll try and post an informal review in the meantime. This ink is wonderful.

I'd love to see a review of an ink I've discovered lately: PENBBS #218. I've read that it's a Chinese ink. It has a gold shimmer component to it. I think it's gorgeous, and I'd love to see some other reviews of it on here, to see what other people's experience with the gold shimmer dust has been like.

Legal Lapis, Noodler's, please

Thanks

Please check the Index of Ink Reviews in the Ink Reviews Forum to see previous reviews. ;)

I know there are several categories for Noodler's. Noodler's Legal Lapis is indexed under: "Noodler's, exclusively for the Pendemonium store: All of these exclusives are bulletproof."

Hey,

has anyone tried the new Graf von Faber Castell inks Olive Green and Cognac Brown?

Not tried them for any length of time, but here are a couple of quick swabs, for your information.

The ink is typically "GvFC" - more akin to soft vintage-style J. Herbin than punchy saturated Sailor.

Hey,

I have a hunch that next years Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year Olive Green will be very similar to the former ink that you mention. B)

I would like to see the two new bottled inks from Cross reviewed: Blue and Blue-Black. (There is a mini-review based on a quick try-out of the blue-black, but it would be great if there could be a full review. There are no comments on the blue). Many thanks in advance.

I don' t have a review request, but another kind of request. But, first can I say thank you to whoever, moderates, organises and sorts out all the information here. The ink forum and especially the reviews are my favourite place on the net. Barely a day goes by...

My request is: is it possible to cull some of the older reviews where the links to the photos no longer work?

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
