Omas Information

MANUPENS

Recommended Posts

Manu,

First, congratulations on your successful negotiation.

Second, I am a dedicated OMAS user who happens to have accumulated quite a few OMAS pens and have been very unhappy with the company's travails. So, I am delighted by the prospect of continued availability of OMAS pens and, I hope, new tasteful designs in beautiful materials with wonderful-writing qualities.

Last, but by no means least, I take great comfort from the tone of respect for OMAS and its tradition in your opening post.

And a question: Will you be coming to the San Francisco Pen Show this year? Syd and Wahl-Eversharp are cosponsors, as I am sure you know. It would be splendid to have Conway-Stewart and OMAS there too!

Regards,

David

Dear Manu:

I am quite excited to hear that Omas will still be around.. I was on my way to find myself an Omas in the secondary market. But, now I will patiently wait for your site to be up, and find myself my first Omas. ;)

Thanks you so much for keeping Omas alive.

Thank you for making it possible for my favorite pen company to continue producing the wonderful pens enjoyed for so many years. I hope the launch of your web domain & Ebay sales will be wildly successful & bring in great revenue to ensure your future plans. I had ruefully believed my 2015 Omas purchase of the Special edition Ogivia in Burkina would be my last Omas purchase but perhaps you have made it possible for their to be others. I appreciate your alert to the Ebay sales preceding launch of the designated outlet site & have put it on my watch list.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you, also, for understanding that a company such as Omas needs a family business way of doing, rather than a corporate one.

I wish you all the luck, and all that is needed for this adventure to be a success.

I can't wait to see your site.

Long live OMAS.

Long live MANUPENS.

I'm really looking forward to the web-site launch. I won't be at home in the UK, but I'm sure I will still want to buy something. :)

This is so great. You guys are the guardian angels of the fountain pen hobby. I have faith you will honor the essence of Omas the way you have W-E.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
