I have spent thousands of dollars on Manu's pens, but he won't answer a simple question via the FPN, his website or ebay, despite the many attempts. The silence is deafening.

This is not the way to treat existing, and potential repeat, customers to a nascent brand desperately in need of cash and good will.

same happened here. But I guess when you have that many customers you can be selective.

Nice insinuation. I can only assume your user name is ironic.

And while I'm sure that in all probability it did occur to you that the 'deafening silence' descended after said purchases, you simply could not overcome the childish urge to lob boulders at those betters passing from your vantage under a bridge.

I will not feed the faceless, risible internet troll. Good day.

No, actually it did not occur to me, so I can see your point. And I apologize for not recognizing my betters. :) What I would suggest in a case such as your is this: if a seller does not respond to queries, then just forget him/her and the item. :)

I mean, whatever was promised and whatever ends up on eBay, I'm glad I went on an OMAS binge about a year before they went kerplunk.

Any updates?

What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

I read a article about his revival and he appears to have renaming it Armando Simoni Club while maintaining all the Omas materials/designs. The new website is at ascpens.com, and I am pretty sure it is the same Manu who posted this thread earlier. I have no idea why he hasn't come back on this thread, but I suppose he's been busy with his new business. Good news for all the anxious fans of Omas who were waiting!

Yes, it is the same Manu. The latest on ASC will be found on the Italian forum: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/321957-new-armando-simoni-club-brown-arco-banded-armadillo-version/

As to why he hasn't come back on this thread, I can only speculate: he was here to promote his new venture and his selling of old OMAS stock, and he seems to be doing quite well without additional advertisement (here)..

I think you will have the most success contacting him through his website. He doesn't respond directly, but the people who work with/for him will respond within a day or two. I recently purchased two Arco's this way. They were very responsive and sent numerous pics. The prices are reasonable as well. I highly recommend buying this way.

Please forgive my overlooking it, but what is his website, please?

I note a "suggested" price is quoted. Does anyone know if that is the actual price?

Unless ASC starts selling through other retailers the suggested price is probably the price.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
