Thanks for the comments Dane! Wait to do your road trip until the fall color changes! Some photographers like to capture the scene as true-to-life as possible and others, like myself, like to portray what I saw at the time of the capture, the vibrance, color, drama. Though I don't go this direction ALL the time!

 

The board is a toilet seat; usually set on a couple of logs surrounding a hole dug in the ground.

Oh that is just too funny about the board. Here my mind was on hooking up a wood stove in the barn when I wrote to your post. What stove pipe is that shape? haha. Art is about as open-ended as people, so I don't judge. I like the pictures and it makes me want to spend some time there camping, eating beans

Hey there MikeyinDenver! Welcome to FPN! I am a "former Coloradoan" about to become a "Coloradoan" again, although it might just be temporary. There is no place on earth like Colorado, particularly if you are a photographer. I share your love for photography and fountain pens.

 

What camera gear do you use? I'm a bit of a Nikon addict, and now have the 810 that I have wanted since the day it was announced. It is fantastic for landscape photography (my main thing).

 

Thankfully, fountain pens can be less expensive, unless you collect the really high end collector editions. I am just mostly a functional writer.

I'm a Nikon guy as well. Always have been. Though there have been plenty of times I've debated the switch. And, of course, nowadays some of the mirrorless guys are making a run at the high-quality capabilities.

 

I shoot with an 800 these days. I think I got it a day after it arrived at the local shop! Haha.

 

I was hoping this found-again hobby would be inexpensive but it is proving to be quite the contrary. Lamy 2000, Visconti Michelangelo, Visconti Homo Sapiens, and a Montegrappa NeroUno Linea, plus a Lamy Safari calligraphy with a big ol' stub nib but its a cheapo. I'm stopping here...for now!
