The Heritage 1914 On Display - It's A Huge Pen !

Excuse me. Excuse me.

I just wanted to remind everyone that it is not the size of the pen that matters, it's how you use it. A Mozart can be very satisfying if used correctly, I've been told.

I use a 149 for daily writing, obviously. But some prefer LeGrands.

Very handsome, classic looking pens!

If I understand correctly, these are much more limited editions than let's say the WE pens which are made in relatively large quantities (+/- 10 - 15K...). So, it's understandable that they are more expensive....

Given the price, I probably won't be getting one soon....but don't begrudge MB for the price....

@Sampanel, thanks for your photos......

Wanting more than ONE pen that accomplishes the same task is senseless. Talking about them on the internet instead of simply using them is senseless. We aren't here because of sense. :D

Hmm, there is more wisdom in your statement than I can absorb. I sense that if I were not here right now, I might be hot on the scents of pens that cost more cents than common sense would deem approriate.

Hi, here are 1914 photos with 149 and 1912. Hopefully they can give everybody some idea on the size of the pens :)

Great photos.. Actually 'great' doesn't cut it. PERFECT photos and choice of pens to compare to.

Thank you so much! :)

Regarding the pens, unbelievable..!! The size comparison with the 149 was shocking. And it totally dwarfed the Heritage 1912.

Thank you for the amazing pictures.

Montblanc should reward you for your efforts, especially if it's with the orange one...

Ha...ha, I think they will consider this after seeing your post, SD10521 !!

Other than FP, I love photography. Actually I was so lucky that in Hong Kong that MB boutique is the only shop displaying the 1914. They will be taken away to other country for display after 28th Aug, and it is really my honour to share the 'unofficial' 1914 photo with FP friends in other side of the world.

I'm at least glad to see that they are making some other models in the 149 size. I really hope they start making others like this in the lower price range and maybe in some of them nice fancy colors! A white resin 149 with Platinum trim :P :P :P I'm sure some would consider it blasphemy!

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Amazing pen. The size is so much bigger than 149.

Wow! And I used to think the 149 was huge. :yikes:

Both look gorgeous. If money were no object, I would have a hard time deciding which one to choose.

Thank you very much for sharing the pics.

They are amazing!

The pens are also beautiful. Even the pistonknob has the MontBlanc star!

Good for me it is way beyond my budget.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
