For Christmas I got a few pens and inks and paper and envelopes. And some stamps to put on the envelopes. Which makes me ready to write letters. But I don`t want to write letters to people who don`t answer like I did in the past.

A little about me: I`m a middle-aged (not from the middleages!) woman who loves to read books of all kinds. My thirst for knowledge is endless and that is a good thing because life never gets boring that way. So now I`m here, looking for a penpal. You don`t need to be a bookworm like me or play the recorder (there, I said the evil word) eeh ZEN flute ;) .

Just stay true to yourself when writing to me. That is my only request.

May peace and enlightenment come to you all.

I have SO MANY ink samples sitting around not being used. I would love to have an excuse to use them besides squandering them at work :/

I have a wide variety of interests including video games, science fiction, dinosaurs, medieval history, mythology from around the world, jewelry making, and whatever else you would like to share.

Jack of all trades, master of none. For now. Just give me a minute...

Hi. My username is firedawn, and I'm 27. I'm newly married so I'm setting up house while minding little kids at the same time in my day job as a piano teacher. When I'm not teaching my freelance income comes from reporting incidents in the news, so I read a lot of news (in Chinese specifically, since my reporting area is China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong).

I'm moderately interested in current events, musical theater, and heavily interested in film, books, and music (classical, theater, pop, jazz, as well as music from the Asian countries since I grew up there... a weird variety, really).

For my wedding, I learned to write calligraphy for the place cards and envelopes, and that became an obsession with dip pens and fountain pens and colorful inks. As I'm getting settled into a long-term house, I also want to become a great host for guests & letter writer. This means that I love writing by hand, and I love getting letters in the mail. I also love to eat and cook, so I'm always writing down new recipes in my little card box by hand with my fountain pens. I prefer to eat cleanly and conscientiously, with ethically raised food (both produce and animal products), and I also like to make my own household cleaning products, such as laundry detergent and other things. I guess a part of me just loves to mix and match and play with smells and cleaning products and things, which is starting to extend over to mixing inks too!

Give me a shout via PM if you're interested in any of those things!

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a penpal all over the world,
but I am very interested in Ireland and would imagine a pen pal with an Irishman.
My mother tongue is German, but I can so English.

I am open to many things.

My current interests are:
- Photography
- Mountain-biking
- Nature
- And so on.

Here is my introduction from "New members":

Hello All of you,
I would like to introduce myself:

In real life my name is Edwin Schäfer, married, two kids (born in 1981 and born in 1994) live in northern Saarland, Germany.
I am a computer scientist and work at a pharmaceutical distributor.
I was born in 1958 and have found it here even more members in my age, which was also a reason for me to register in the pen forum.

I'm not the great collectors of fountain pens, but I love to write with the fountain pen as a balance to my computer work.
Although I have several fountain pens from Pelikan and Lamy.
With which I can write well and thus has no need as many new pens. :-)
What times!
---

Thanks a lot,
Edwin

Heyhello there,

my name is Ebu Bekir, but you can call me Ebu :)

I'm 17 years old, born and raised in the Netherlands, but moved to my homeland of Turkey a couple months ago.

Im looking for my first pen pal(s). I haven't sent a letter to anyone ever, but I'd like to try it out. I'm currently keeping a diary and I'm looking to expand my writing sessions with weekly letters about whatever

there is to talk about(These are just for myself, though). In addition to that, I'm curious about how it would be to have a penpal... I probably am a really boring person to one who quickly glances at my interests list. I'll also mention that I'm muslim, and have witnessed alot of wonderful things as a muslim, just at the age of 17...

My interests...

I'm all about writing. I like dreaming and thinking, so you could say I'm quite into philosophy. I can talk about anything, be it harsh or sweet. I absolutely love nature and animals. I write about my dreams, my thoughts, my own little world that's between my ears. I try to teach others how to be disciplined by acting disciplined myself, I'd like to become a teacher one day. I know the issues the youth today is facing...

If you're looking for a pen pal who's not afraid of giving counter arguments. I'm someone who can write powerful

letters and can make someone think deeply. I want people to be open when talking with me,

so I really want them to talk about something however they think about it,

and not restrict their words just because of my age, race, religion etc. etc. etc...

That really bothers me in the world we live in today.

I am up to any challenge you've got :P

PS: I'm lefthanded :-)

PPS: I can share an incredible personal love story that hopefully will end just how I want it to end

Being patient,

Ebu

I am quite fond of writing letters but [for now] I would rather not reveal my address just yet since I may be moving soon. Do PM me your addresses if you're looking forward to a letter from south east Asia :) I may not write one immediately but i definitely will take the time to when I can spare some time.

P.S.who created these badges? they're adorable

Interested in finding a new pen pal. Anyone and everyone is a candidate.

About me:

- I have been into fountain pens for a little over a year now.

- I have tons and tons of ink samples that I need to write with.

- I like science fiction and horror movies and books.

- I love writing about everything.

- I am 22 years old.

- I am studying Criminal Justice.

- I love art and am very interested in learning more about art history.

- I like everything from classical music to heavy metal music.

- My resolution 2015 is to try more foods and be more adventurous. My whole life I've been a terribly picky eater and haven't been too adventurous with anything else. But I would like that to change. :D

Do send me a message if you are interested in becoming pen pals. I welcome everyone.

We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken. - Dostoevsky

New year, new post! I lost a few pen friends over the course of 2014, some people just decide it’s not the hobby for them I guess, and I’m looking to pick up a few more. I got 2 new pens (a Regal 82 and a Pilot Cavalier) for Christmas and, if “things I blew my year end bonus on” count as “Christmas presents”, a bottle of J. Herbin Stormy Grey ink. I need to work them out!

Me: female, turned 40 in November, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but currently rusticating in my ancestral homeland of south Louisiana. Interests other than fountain pens include photography (I usually include photos in my letters), vintage cameras and other antiques, southern folk religion, needle- and papercrafts, and of course reading—what letter writer isn’t also a book lover?

I’m interested in hearing from pretty much anyone, although I would prefer if you were at least 25. That’s basically my only requirement. Well, also don’t be a jerk and use reasonably proper spelling and punctuation. And please for the love of dog, no “LOLs” or other internet slang. I wince when I see stuff like that in letters.

So i'm back again after a rather long hiatus.

My original post is here:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/2314-snail-mail-writing-list/?p=432628

Still single, still have the kids, and I still live in Jacksonville, FL. I love, love, love my Ahab flex pen and want to improve my handwriting. I love receiving letters, even if I'm not the most prompt when it comes to replying :o

I'm a reading machine....primarily urban fantasy, ya, erotica, dystopian, sf, fantasy. I watch too much tv, especially food network and hgtv. no politics/religious discussions.

PM to exchange addresses.

Hi! I'm looking for some pen pals. I'm a 30 yr old graduate student studying economics (my field is development economics, so I'm always interested in chatting about development, applied microeconomics, or RCTs, and I know nothing about unemployment or inflation or ...). I live in the Bay Area with my wife, 2 year old daughter, and 2 cats. I love to read fantasy---right now I'm reading Brent Weeks and Steven Erikson. I also like the outdoors, including running, biking, and hiking. I have recently become a bit of an EDC nut as well.

I'd love to chat about shared interests, or about current events, or about anything or nothing. Please PM if you're interested.

Thanks!

Looking for a pen friend from Spain or Spanish America, to practice my Spanish.

If this is going, I for sure want in (need to improve handwriting, and who doesn't want to use their pens?!)

I am a 16 year old junior in high school, I am in all AP (college credit) classes for my academics, I only recently took the plunge to get into fountain pens (the week of Christmas I bought two because they were 66% off in presentation boxes to be gifts). I love my pens and (when I get money) I would like to start looking at/learning about vintage pens, as I love anything old (old watches, old radios, old knives, old guns, old cars, old shaving supplies, etc.). If I start a penal type deal, be prepared for my chicken scratch, which will hopefully improve as I write more.

It's been a while since I posted here and I have been happily corresponding with a number of people from all over the world.

This may seem a little odd, immature, and childish, would anyone out there like to correspond using Noodler's Blue Ghost invisible ink? None of my regular correspondents have this ink, nor a black light.

Anyone up for odd, immature, and childish invisible letters? If you are, pm me.

Cheers,

Nathan

Please call me Nathan. It is a pleasure to meet you.

Not sure if I'm allowed more than one post here, but I would be interested in getting (possibly, I don't know how much cost would be and can't find cost on google) a penal in some other country (I'm in the US).

I would also be interested (some may think this childish) in having a pen pal setup where all letters are written in Caesarian shift ciphers.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
