Thanks for the photos of the gray Pelikan set and I did not know they existed in other colors other than tortoise, green, and black. Did Pelikan ever make a blue striated FP? Thanks.

Yes, they did. But only since the 1980's.

The Pelikan on the far right with the swirled color and 2 cap rings, would I guess be pretty rare--I've never seen one before (not that I'm an expert by any means). It looks a bit like a waterman 3 with the 2 cap rings and the swirled body and cap color.

Yes, there were not that many built of these, but still, they exist. So, I wouldn't call it a super rare pen, just uncommon. The color/pattern is called light tortoise and there are existing two versions: one with a single capband, similar to all other 400, and one with two capbands of which I think that it is the older of the two.

ps: I'm still looking for the missing pencils which seems to be much harder to find....

The LAMY Safari has been a pen of special interest to me since I came into pens. But my goal never was to get a complete collection of all colors. My main interest is in the early colors, and the newest ones with textured surface. Nevertheless, I find it interesting to have a chronological overview to all the colors ever made. Since one year, I am member of the very friendly board of the French pen community: stylo-plume.org. Stylo-plume allows to edit original posts for quite a long time. That's why I decided to start there a thread with the goal of collecting pictures of all Safari colors. Have a look at here:

No, I suspect that it is much earlier, because the clip and nib are black and the cap screw is metal, at least on my pen. Unfortunately, the matte white surface is almost impossible to photograph.

...not the best pictures ever, I know. But it's really difficult to catch this color and even the surface.

 

The textured Alpin is stamped with W. Germany, the glossy one with Germany.

Yes, the: not quite dark enough green (on the scale) to say it's the true secondary color green that fits between Lamy Blue & Yellow.

Have that one and used Diamine Meadow Green ink.

 

Just missing the three textured, first green, earth red, and white.

Also the red/yellow, white/red internationals.

Now, something new Pelikan. My newest: a 101N from 1950. Nothing uncommon...

 

 

...except the nib: a true EEF!!

 

 

 

EF nibs are easy to find, but EEF are quite uncommon and you won't find them every day. Although its tiny tip size, it writes perfectly smooth on every paper. Not necessary to mention that I like it a lot....
