Wonderful. When did you buy the ink - is it new or old?

Hard to say Steve as I only got a sample from Goulet - I bought that about a month ago (just before their sale) so I doubt it was more than a couple of months old.

You got me all intrigued....and it's another quiet morning at work so I dumped some Blue Suede out of my convertor to see how it would dry and you're right there is sheen, but it's much more red than purple and needs a LOT of ink to show up. I will put some in a noodlers flex over the weekend to see if anything eventuates while writing as it certainly doesn't show up using an EF nib even though the line is pretty wet.

Ignore the horrible yellow cast on the image, the ink colour itself is pretty accurate. I tried the same with Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku which you can just see the edge of on the left and I got no sheen out of that which surprised me as I've got a sheen off that when I swabbed it at home.

You're right, it is reddish, pardon my mistake. For some reason I kept thinking it was purple but when I got out my paper it was maroonish. Like you said, it only shows up when a lot of ink is put down, I get it out of my Konrad flex and certain super wet B or stub pens :)

Festive inks (??) for the upcoming holidays. The colors don't really stand out as "holiday-y" but the scents are fun --if only when you're loading up a pen. Subtle is the word for the day with these inks...

Oh, some pretty vintage pens there :) Rather like the blue ink -- I see a fair bit of spotting in the cap, though. Is that normal for the pen or for the ink?

The two TWSBI's I've used have not suffered from that but once and it is (I assume) because it was shipped inked.

Both the pen and ink are new --so I'll have to see if this is a regular thing or not. But with all my pens, there tends to be a reasonable, small amount of ink that gathers in the caps. I wipe them out with a paper towel from time to time. But with a demonstrator, it's certainly more noticeable, isn't it?

Still love that Myrrh blue ink, though!

True -- it would probably drive the more anal-retentive insane after a while :)

That Myrrh blue really is gorgeous. Reminds me a little of Bleu Pervenche in a wet nib.

This got me thinking of blues today...

Beautiful italic hand! Great color for a dreary day (at least here, in Indianapolis)!

It seems they're out of stock now. :headsmack:

Could have been a sign Steve, this is the best I could get out of Blue Suede with a flex nib, the sheen is virtually impossible to see unless you hold the paper a millimetre from your face :S It is there, but the ink is too dark to really appreciate it and no amount of different angles made it particularly reflective.

I get spotting in my TWSBI 580 caps too, seems to happen more with wetter inks (like the picture above), where as with drier inks I may only get a spot or two.

Thanks for the heads up -- I was considering getting one for a friend but I'm pretty sure the spotting would bother him :) I'll get him something else instead to build up his fledgling collection (only 2 thus far, but he loves them).

I do love me some Sailor inks :P

Pretty again and so do I :D I think I'll pull out the Rikyu-cha soon.

I didn't know the Heritage nib had flex, though.

Thank you :D I'm waiting on a package of more Sailor inks... haha! Can't wait to share them on this thread! :)

The CH92 technically doesn't come with soft nibs, I bought my pen in a local store and the salesman swapped nibs from a CH 91 for me.

Oooh, what did you get?

Colour me interested in getting a CH 92 body + CH 91 nib then :)

Pen & Message Cigar, Maruzen Athena Eternal Blue, Tokiwa Matsu, Morita Shade Green, and I just pulled the trigger on BungBox 4B and Ruby. Yikes, seeing them listed out like that makes me feel a bit guilty :( Well at least I'll have lots more new inks to share here! Haha.

You could try asking engeika, I am not sure if he still does that, though.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
