I have charcoal Safari too, but with a F nib. How smooth is the EF?

I was worried that the EF nib would be scratchy, but I like .5 mechanical pencil lead for writing fine lines and getting notes and sentences where they ought not go. I am very very fond of the EF, I precieve it very smooth, and the flow is good, it dosen't just cut out. There is no scratch but I think there is what is called "feedback", meaning you can feel the paper, but it lays down a line with little or no pressure. After seeing the Fine nib, which looks to write like a .9mm line I am glad I went with EF. Does the fine write a line like a .9mm pencil? I am curious.

Man that is a nice demonstrator pen! My favorite part is that they make it like all the others with the ink viewing window. As I suspected the fine just dosen't look fine enough to be called fine for me.

I love my Al-Stars and Vista. I'm so sad to have recently lost my charcoal Safari, but I have memories. And a photo:

Here's my recently acquired Lamy 2000 with M nib. It came in this tin clamshell packaging, which I thought was odd given that most of the time the 2000 is shipped in the cardboard-like package. Anyway, I really love the pen and it's getting a lot of pocket time! :)

Heres a picture of some of the Safaris I have in the collection

http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/af344/996nick2009/Fountain%20Pens/file_zpsbcd45ee6.jpg

I have become a little obsessive about collecting the different colours.

My EDC is a Black 1.1 nibbed safari loaded with a Lamy Turquoise cartridge. Fabtastic pen.

Hoping that Santa brings me a BB nibbed L2K.

My red Al-star is at work, as always. It's been dropped a million times, borrowed, banged around, and still looks/works like new. I have a fairly active job, I busted a papermate in my pocket a few weeks ago but the al-star has never given me a problem.

In the picture we have the obnoxious-yellow 1.1 and the pencil. I'm waiting on the Accent mechanical pencil in the mail too and I'm SO excited.

Hi,

My first Lamy was a 2000, but I don't have one anymore.

I really like the Lamy ABC and Scribble a lot though.

Lamy 2k, Lamy Persona Titan, Lamy Lady, Lamy Studio - all with F or EF-nibs

Sorry, flash from a little very inexpensive Fuji destroys real colors :(

The persona is on my to buy list...any hint as to a release date? Then again, I might get a vintage and modern version. Also on my list, a Lamy 27.

Great to see some older models :)

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
