KarzyIvan: I'm humbled, and thankful.

Humbled by your collection, and slideshow. notworthy1.gif

Thankful for your sharing, and because now I can say to my my wife "see ... I'm not the only one". clap1.gif

I'm definitely getting one of those BDU wallets.

Lastly, I'm curious about your EDC Tool Kit, what do you have in it?

Thanks again, and oh, BTW, have you seen one of these Urban Wallets; check it out: http://www.edcknives.com/vcom/product_info.php?products_id=2275

Thank you for the kind words. Currently my BDU wallet contains

  • Pico Widgy Pry Bar
  • Kershaw knife adjustment tool
  • CountyComm Versa Driver set
  • Peanut Lighter (I don't smoke but fire starting capabilities can come in useful)
  • Fine Multi screw driver set
  • EMT Sheers
  • Sharpie Pen
  • 4GB USB Thumb Drive

I have heard of the Urban wallet but I have not seen it in person. I will have to take a look. :)

@ DavidHandmade: Thank you! A fellow MD'er! :notworthy1: I purchased the BDU wallet on eBay but I have seen them at Countycomm.com and there is also a Maxpedition version. All of them have a slightly different inside configuration. Mine is made by Condor.

Hey - Thanks - I will check out those websites & eBay.

Off-Topic Q for You:

What mic do you like to use with your MD Recorder for your personal and/or field recordings?

- just curious...

Thanks.

I use a mic I got on eBay some years ago. It is a stereo T mic in the flavor of the Sony T mic except it has a 4 ft. cord. Panasonic brand electret mics but put together/manufactured by the seller. He still sells on eBay, username is microphonics, IIRC.

I've been wearing a Tilley Different Drummer Legends Outback Vest for at least 5 years now (maybe closer to 10), everywhere I go. This is their slightly less expensive version of the VOMP (Vest of Many Pockets), and only has 12 pockets (mine has 13, as I had Tilley add one more), including two that can hold a full-size notebook. The regular inhabitants of my vest are pen, cell phone, digital camera, PDA, wallet, and car keys. When I travel, I also carry my passport and pilot license.

No affiliation, other than as a happy customer, and that I'm in the same country as Tilley. :)

You can see a bit of the vest in my avatar (mine is a light brown colour).

Nice looking vest. I just bought this one from ScottEVest for my trip this week to Macworld. Love SEV stuff...

Very nice. I have been wanting to get something like that but never get around to it.

They sell on-line too, and the vest has a lifetime guarantee (against wearing out, not against damage by accident). I thought it was a lot to spend on a vest when I first got mine, but I've never regretted it (and like I mentioned, I wear it everywhere I go).

My Satchel with a No 12 Dot and an Esterbrook SJ

Is that a PFM next to the rhodia?

He says it's an Esterbrook SJ. You quoted him doing it.

i carry a modified ALICE pack when I go to work. The mods I have done to the bag are,

cut of the the top cover flap

cut of all extra outside pouches

remove the rear slide pocket ( this is where the frame slides in)

add new cord locks and cord

when I go out and about I have pockets sized note books.

Hey - I just picked up a Black BDU Wallet by Condor from eBay.

It's a great little "pouch" and will work its way into my daily carry-arsenal.

Thanks for your post!

Glad you like it. I EDC mine and it is the first pouch I pick up when switching bags.

Men carry briefcases, and wouldn't whine about it being heavy

Brilliant! According to you marines aren't men, as they carry usually backpacks?

I had this made by a local craftsman for me. it is based off a saddleback design, combining the best of the large and thinline briefcases.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
