Broken? Sheaffer balance 350 feed

I think this feed is broken and the large space in it is not supposed to be there.   This is a picture with the collar an nib removed.  I should probably source another eh?

Correct. Likely someone tried to pull the feed out. Always knock out from the back. Dale at Pentooling sells replacement feeds. One can also be taken from a parts pen.

Save the feed tail!! Those tend to break… good to have a few spares on hand.

Right on.     I'll make an order with Dale then.   I'm pretty sure I don't have a spare.

It was broken when I got it but until I started soaking it It didn't reveal the flaw.   After soaking the nib slipped out.   Definitely worth fixing though!

I have finally gotten back to this pen.   After all this time I was able to twist the upper part back into place and with the sleeve back on the nib and feed it feels solid.    Now I have a new mystery though.

I went to put it back in the nib section and it just slips in and out.   There isn't much play but it certainly won't stay in there without something making it a little thicker.   Of course now I'm wondering if this is even the original nib and feed for this section of it some plastic has shrunk.

Would it be crazy to rosin into back in? I know that isn't typical though.

Can anyone take a look at a similar pen in their collection to see if there is a number 3 nib in in there's?
