I really wish they would give us some info as to when they anticipate restarting -- even if the timeline has to slip.

The guy that pretty much created the pens doesn't even say anything about making more. He's a member here...

Komec is a precision machining firm.  I would imagine they are rather busy with how goofy Covid has turned things.  They have publicly stated Conid will be back but it's not their main focus.

Well, they're devoted to the survival of humanity and supporting the anti-COVID cause.
Kudos to them for that.
I guess the world can wait for the return of the only pen better than the Opus-88 Demo. 😁

Woot!! I’ve been saving birthday and Christmas presents for a few years now in anticipation of that moment.

Does anyone know if CONID permits customization beyond the base models? For example, can they do a half demonstrator with a black cap, but titanium on the cap finial and blind cap?

I hope to see a "Thickline"(the opposite of the Slimline) version of the Regular Bulkfiller incorporating some of the improvements found on the newer models once Conid manages to catch up to the considerable pent up demand some time perhaps next year.

Moving the ink window to the other side of the choke without the barrel screw threads(like the Minimalistica and Kingsize) or removing it from the demonstrators entirely(like the Slimline), making the barrel the same diameter across its entire length instead of having that bump(like the Slimline), making the barrel 1-2mm thicker and 5-10mm longer, things like that. Some small changes to bring it in line with the newer designs and to have a more substantial version of this particular visual design, that still accepts a #6 nib instead of a #8 nib.

As long as we’re listing our dreams, more CAISO, please! Or some other effective way to disable the blind-cap shutoff mechanism.

Conid always allowed part combination  such as demonstrator with black cap and titanium end pieces on cap and body, so no problem.

Piston knob.  Blind cap is a removable cover over a smaller piston knob/button, or something similar.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Don't expect too much Harold !

In first instance Conid will make there limited standard  range of pens : the flattop Regular, the Kingsize flat top - including Caiso - and the flattop  Minimalistica.

Ensuring a fluent back and forth ink transfer between the front  and main ink chambers all pens will be equipped with a new Teflon coated "surface tension breaker needle", now mounted in the top top of the piston rod.

Caiso will surely  become available, but limited to the Kingsize

Really happy to hear. I am planning to get another king size this time a full demonstrator with round ends.

Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated!

I've had a meeting with Werner today and he showed me his massive Conid parts stock.

Werner assured me again that they will restart Conid within a few months.

I'll surely keep you posted!

Kind regards,

Francis

@Yeetus:
Are you referring to the acrylic ink feeds underneath the nib?

These will probably become available again, but only on the Kingsize Bulkfiller

Excellent news, and the Euro is dropping compared to the dollar which is helpful.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
