And could I request that you post some more pics especially of some of the more obscure 360's (e.g. Prototype Arco with fret banding, the wood 360's and metal 360's)? They are too gorgeous not to see more of, especially the nibs and details! Thank you for sharing such a glorious collection.

I have what I am told is a 360 Magnum with YG trim. It sure looks pure black to me. It is my only 360, there are others I would love to have. Maybe one day.

 

Any ideas what pen mine might be, given your statement that the only true black pen was a special edition?

 

OMAS' black resin looks black for all intents and purposes, though it does have a bluish tint to it. This is why it is usually referred to as blue/black, though really it is black.

 

It is only when putting the two pens next to each other, and I mean a regular blue/black pen and the Tabellionis Stylus, that you realise that the latter is "blacker", and lacks the bluish tint.

 

But when you are holding a blue/black pen by itself, it most definitely looks black to the eye...

I started going for the complete set once I heard that OMAS had ceased to exist, so about a year and a half ago. I only had a three at that time (Titanium, Ebony and Snakewood), and the rest came afterwards...

 

I will take some more pictures of the other ones you wish to see as I get the chance, but in the mean-time, you can enjoy some OMAS Arco goodness here:

Thank you! Those are AMAZING! There are plenty of pictures of the 360 arco on the flat side (which is very nice), but I do like the subtlety of the grains on the angled faces.

 

Quick question for you- on my 360's, I've noticed that OMAS used two different sizes (circumference) of the ebonite feed. The later 360's that I have (smokey grey and wild celluloids) have the same feed size as the vintage paragons while the older 360's (titanium and blue royale) feeds are smaller. Nibs on both are the same size. Is that the case for yours as well?

It's a tremendously beautiful pen. I greatly regret not picking one up in Zurich a few years ago. It seemed expensive at the time...

Ah, thanks. I rather like blue that is so dark it looks black. Will look at it in the sun to see if I can pick up the blue.
