I never had a Kaweco before. I walked in to Pen Boutique with the intention of buying a new bottle of Emerald of Chivor for my TWSBI. Then I saw the purple Skyline Sport Broad nib and I had to get it.

Finally dug out a pic of my Dia 785 07, about which I can find absolutely nothing - clearly many a knowledgable Kaweco fan on this thread, so if you can help with that I'd be delighted. The nib is a modern Kaweco Sport BB reground, but it came with the hardest, scratchiest extra fine steel nib marked up "IA-4" and "74K" (yes, definitely a 7 and not a 1!) Its collar is cracked, and so is its piston shaft, but I re-corked it and it's a pleasure to use. Too bad we don't see many vintage Kawecos here in the UK.

An early Safety Kaweco, Tree Trunk silver 800 overlay, just found in LA Pen show, with an A. Morton # 2 nib

I just came back so I have not looked for more information yet...

OH BOY! Please tell me that you payed a fortune for this safety so that I can sleep well.:-) What a wonderful find, congratulations. I haven't seen any Kaweco as exciting in several years.

I had seen it long time ago but too expensive indeed, fortunately it did not sell then and this time I could make an offer much more convenient for me...

Please don't get me wrong, I wasn't serious at all about the price. In fact, I'm glad that you were able to afford this gem because I'm sure it is in good hands now. I Think this is the kind of pen we all dream of finding at a flea market for a song and it never happens. :)

By the way, is this one of those safeties where you use the cap to extrude and withdraw the nib by attaching it to the screw at the upper end?

No problem, I got your irony and thought it was funny.... and yes, you screw the cap at the upper end to extrude the nib... a very smooth movement ... Those pens were so well done !!

Here is a baby among the vintage pens on this page. A V2, Kaweco's early attempt to a hooded nib design only about 20 years after the Parker 51. :) I think it came out around 1960/61 or so and it's a trusty daily writer (quite visible in the pictures).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
