Thank you, Prithwijit for the detailed revue.

Enjoy your pen.

Is this pen a futur new model to be comercialised by ASA, or is it a one time pen?

From what is written in the review, you will have to procure the blanks yourself from the mentioned source. So the model is there, but to get the same design, you need to get the blanks.

@Ray J - Yes, I understand this one was a costum order.

I just wondered if ASA was eventually going to propose it, later, as another model of it's collection. Just curious, not that I would want one made. :)

I believe so. It looks like a nice pen, but another centimeter long would have made it better for me. But that would require 2 blanks.

Since ASA pens have said that they would make it after Nauka Group buy, I should import the blanks for this. I'm in India so no problem with placing the order at least. :)

I am sorry I hadn't seen your response.

Thank you for it.

Sure, that's what we do here, share picture of our pens and inks. :)

Although I don't trust my photography skills, I'll try to take good pictures. :)

Thank you. I am sure you will do perfectly fine :)

I have been insisting that ASA expands it's catalogue of offerings and especially offer a few nice designs using special materials other than standard ebonites and pastel acrylics. Fingers crossed to see some such offers soon even if he makes them in limited numbers.

Everybody likes smaller pens. I, on the other hand like them big. :)

Anyway, I went to the mentioned website for the blanks.

#28 looks like the blank this pen was made from.

I liked #26, #52 and #54.

Once you visit www.muttblanks.com and start exploring the options under lava explosion, its hard to stop oneself from ordering all of them. Each design is interesting and unique. I wish someone uses #12 blanks too since they closely resemble the colours of the Indian Triclolour.

If you are buying ready blanks from the website, please order two pieces of five inches each for the material that you choose. That should be enough to have a proper sized pen with clips.

It could be interstenging. In a smaller size, in black ébonite and with a Ambitious nib.

That pen already exists. Its called the Guider Onyx.

Personally though, I wont bother pairing a stock ambitious nib with such a fine material. At the very least I would opt for the Schmidt FH 452 or FH 341.

I measured my Guider onyx and it's close to 150mm in length capped. So not smaller unless I am doing something wrong.

If the pen is made from 2 blanks, am I correct in guessing that it will not be possible to maintain a continuity in design with the pen capped?

I believe there are some piece to piece variations. The Onyx I had as reference was shorter at 146mm. It was also much thinner with a 13.5mm - 14mm approximate diameter.

The continuity can anyway not be maintained since the barrel piece and the cap piece has a break in between. The barrel needs to accommodate the threads for the cap and approx 6-10mm is required there. As a result any continuity with the cap doesn't happen.

The other option is to use solid coloured materials where this is not an issue.

Regards,

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
