My only ebonite so far, a Bexley 56 with factory stub. Soon to be joined by custom Edison in red ebonite - a very practical material for FPs.

A "vintage" MISAK fountain pen made in Hyderabad. Misak has an interesting story, click on the picture to read the thread.

Thank you Hari for this very interesting model. The ebonite is beautiful.

I have been folowing Shrujaya's blog since I saw his presentation of this brand, and his pens (and vainly trying to find a Misak myself since then :( ).

Fountainpagan, I think the pen you were admiring is the Varuna (=Ranga) Rajan. May have got wires crossed as I have been celebrating a successful day at the vides grenier by pouring myself a couple of nice beers.

Too many pens, too little time!

Yes amk, your wires are crossed. I confirm: you had too mny beers.

I don't like the Varuna, too big, and it certainly is not a vintage pen.

I am talking about Misak. Here is the link to the thread it presented the Misak brand to me:

And here is Shrujaya's blog , I have been following since. He is a very educated person, writes beautifully and his blog is rich in information on many interesting subjects, such as litterature and music, among others:

All models are beautiful.... I would prefer the band in Capitola to be gold colored...

We will be inquiring about that when we re-order. We are offering these with 14k nibs, and gold trim will look much better.

FYI we have priced the Capitola at $55 during its introduction..... Add $70 for a 14k nib, or add $25 for one of Nivardo's cursive italic grinds.

Can you please type the name of the mini pen with 'auna' inscription.

And tell a couple of words about it.

Added later

Sorry! At first I failed to read your hand.

I understand the visible inscription letters on the pen is a part of 'Bauna' meaning dwarf in Hindi.

Who is the maker of this pen? It is very interesting indeed!

@fromthecrowd - Bauna was made by Oliver, so Sree has told me.

@mcgeechan - They are nice your ebonites.

On the second photo, the blue ebonites seem to have very interesting nibs. Could you please show them more in detail, and a writing sample too? Please tell as little more about them.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
