I love this ink! On some papers it looks more silver than gray.

Every time I look at the above sample I seem to see a different shade making it hard to put my finger on exactly what it is! Or maybe that's the drink!

I also love this ink. I use it with fine nibs on CF and Rhodia and find it superb in every respect.

Thanks for posting this review. I like all the iroshizuku inks. This is a good one.

No ink for me. I don't like grey or greyish inks.

Thanks for the review.

I thought I would like this one, but I found it a little too pale; plus I never got the lovely blue undertones that everyone seems to get in reviews. :(

....And oh look...I have a tree for this! I agree...it's an interesting blue grey. Some days I like it and other days I find it's just too cold for me.

 

Wow, that is gorgeous. Do you do others with different inks?

Yes...I've been working my way through my bottles and samples. It could take a while...especially since more keep arriving dispite my best intentions to not buy any more. :roller1:

My thanks for your kind words regarding the trees. I find the same thing happens when I am looking at some of the beautiful handwriting around FPN. Part of my adoration of FP ink is the way it behaves. It's not like slapping down paint...it's moves. It has a living quality that continues to change from the moment it touches the paper.

 

When someone puts cadmium red paint on a canvas ...it stays cadmium red. A thousand people can put the same colour on a 1000 different surfaces and it is will remain the same colour...whether it's applied with a brush, a stick, a finger...who cares?.... It's cadmium red...today, next week...next year.

 

Ink ...has a mind of it's own. It hates some nibs and dances with others. It will fight some paper and make love to others. It's a fickle creature and I facinated with it.

 

Regarding a thread dedicated to them....a fountain pen friend had suggested the same thing but I need advice where to stick such a strange hybrid art/ink sample thread? Any thoughts?

Such a beautiful drawing and it really shows off this subtle and lovely ink

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

      Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

      Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
