I tried the Pentel LR7 refill an classic MB ballpoint and it works great but does not seem to fit into the Legrand ballpoint. Any easy refill replacements for LeGrand BALLPOINT pens?

I am not familiar with the Le Grand BALLPOINT. Didn't even know it was available. Post a picture if you can.

Would that be a 161?

THe one the top & bottom are the LeGrand versus the classic size in the middle. They use the same ballpoint refill but the LR7 will not fit the Legrand

I don't think Montblanc offers the LeGrand ballpoint in the US anymore?? Seems they have limited their offerings in the US. I'd like to get the LaBoheme 0.9 mm pencil, but I can't find that anywhere on their website.

Yes of course it is !  Just another one of those forgetful moments that seem to occur more and more now  😞

Quick memory refresh by looking in a point of sale MB directory shows the LeGrand ballpoint as being model M161 as you state. The rollerball of the same size is a M162 whilst the smaller sized Classique range are M163 for rollerball and M164 for ballpoint. These model numbers apply to the black &  gold trim items.

Not tried them myself but have used their roller ball refills in my MB Doue Classic with good results.

Monteverde website or copy and paste the below should get you somewhere to at least start your search.

Monteverde Broad Point Capless Gel Refill for Montblanc Ballpoint Pens

*E.Bay search this * Mont Blanc Compatible Ballpoint Pen Refills Monteverde 10 COLOURS!!

Thanks for the suggestion but I have used the Monteverde refills before and don’t think they perform that great…the fine nib is very scratchy and the broad blotches. I was hoping to find a Japanese gell refill that might fit like the G2 or the Gelion or pentel etc.

I tried Pentel energel 0.7 on a MB starwalker roller ball. The tip moves a little during writing. I pasted a layer of plaster bandage on the other end of the refill and it works perfect.

l discovered later a Muji 0.5 (1706) also works exactly the same.

I love the Pentel LR7 needle tip .7 in my USG Tiscribe-Go pens.  So I want to make sure I am clear.  Will the refill will work in the Montblanc Meisterstück Ballpoint Classique size?

I'm having a difficult time adapting the Energel Refill, the tiny plastic piece doesn't cut away or trim very well. I'm using an X-Acto Knife. I do trim Schmidt Refills in that similar area for my Omas 360 RBs successfully. I use the Bold 1.0 Energel in all 4 colors non-Rt, they're great as regular pens. Also, as an aside, MB Legrand now has Broad Fineliner Refills in black and blue which are much better than the LeG RB.

I use metal files from a "Needle File Set" I got from Lowe's for $5. I use them on Pilot G2 refills to make them fit the Montblanc rollerball. Way easier than I thought it would be - and actually, I overfiled my first one before I knew it, and had to wrap a little tape around it to get it to screw into the threads on the rollerball.

Thank you. I’m going to get them and try it out. I was trying to cut it not file it down which I used on my Omas situation with the Schmidt refills.

Would this be okay? I can't get it from Lowe's where I am. https://www.amazon.com/gp/your-account/order-details?orderID=111-0780833-8587441&ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_view_detail

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
