my63
As you can see the colour has evened out as I thought (hoped) it would the bends are still a little damp but it looks really good so far.My attempt at a double curve on the lid is not working I think it will be better straight but I will sleep on it before I get the blade out. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3794/11503198366_395f8b0975_o.jpgIMG_1384_1 by my0771, on Flickr This picture shows my model pen inside the case i had thought of adding some padding here but I did not want to push my luckhttp://farm4.staticflickr.com/3823/11503104196_6bd7742b7e_o.jpgIMG_1376_1 by my0771, on Flickr The Sam Browne stud works exactly as the guys in the shop said that it would. The next stage is to mark and pierce the holes for the needle and stitch it together then the colour. linearM
What type of glue did you use? Some time ago I posted a topic asking if there are any glues that should be avoided because ingredients might have some effect on the plastic the pens are made from. I didn't get a response. I use a water proof PVA glue this is only to hold the pieces together for stitching and will be similar to the glue used to make the box the pen came in.What are you looking to glue?RegardsMichael For more details on my current projects please visit my blog. https://my63leather.wixsite.com/my63

Apprenti
Hey,These cases are pretty good, how long have you been doing this? I do quite a fair bit of leather work myself, and I can't fine much to fault here. Maybe watch what angle you're punching the holes at, that'll make sure all the stitches are straight on both sides. Also, if it were me I'd use a bradawl rather than a chisel, but if it works for you then stick with it! I look forward to seeing more of your work!!!Keep it up,Joe
Apprenti
Oh, and what thread are you using? Always use Nylon thread or waxed cotton for leather, other threads aren't as likely to hold properly. Again, nice work.Joe
