I'm shocked! ha ha

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Any further word on when this ink will be arriving on American shores? I find it very appealing....

I've no idea but Phil did say they were trying for a sort-of simultaneous 'launch', here and elsewhere. Whether it will coincide with the Flower Set as well, I really couldn't say.

Contacting the US dealers and stockists might be the best source if information.

What a shame that Diamine have not had the forethought to launch Salamander at the London WES.

My thoughts are that they would sell a tanker full of it; after all just look at the number of us pen and ink fans who attend every year. Sigh.

I still think it will do well enough.

Well, to chuck in my own two pence about this, if they release it in 1-2-3-N months or not -- but it still does seem to exist -- I'll buy it someday after all. In plain English, I think I might like it, but I'm in no hurry to check that out.

Fair enough - just not your sort of colour perhaps.

I just checked in with the US Diamine distributor yesterday; it still hasn't arrived but he's hoping sometime next week, then another few days/week to arrive to retailers. So... later this month?!

  • 2 weeks later...

Got my 80ml bottle of Diamine Salamander today (am in Manila). Very nice, a dark olive-y color coming from a wet nib! It did feather in one of my poorer quality notebooks, but is really nice on Canson 90gsm sketchpad paper.

Congratulations, and happy to hear you like it.

Picture / scan with writing sample? :)

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
