I have inkdrop colors on my hand. Boooorriing. Boring blue, purple which I MIGHT like, chartreuse???, green (i've had enough of green) and Sheaffer's Red, which I like quite a bit. But I have all those colors on my fingers.

Baystate Blue, Caran d'Ache Amazon, and the mysterious blue-black that is dried in an Esterbrook J that is still coming clean. Busy day.

Best,

Mike Truppi

As mentioned in my latest post in "Ink Spill Horror Stories", my hands were almost completely blue yesterday (PR Midnight Blues).

Last night I changed the nib on my Rosetta, it is filled with a personal mix of Red-Black (waiting to get some Noodler's Red-Black), as a result I have blood colored stains on my fingers.

Not a big deal normally, but I just started coumadin therapy (blood thinners), and forgot about the ink. I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom...

After freaking out after I blew my nose...

Got to remember when I have odd ink on my fingers...

After an evening playing with my pens, I've got some of all of the following on my fingers:

Asa-gao

Baystate Blue

Ottoman Rose

Eclat de saphir

I consider that a good day.

Since I just showered, I'm skin colored. Tomorrow is another story, I'm getting the ultrasonic out and deep cleaning and filling several pens. Legal Lapis, BSB, HOD, PR Burgundy Mist will be represented by days end.

Three new (to me) inks arrived today (Thanks Brian):

Diamine Syrah.

Very rich and well named. Lush, (medium nib) :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

Will be ordering extra bottles....

Herbin Perle Noire.

Similar to Aurora, in appearance & flow. (parker 51, medium nib) :bunny01:

Noodler's Zhivago.

Dark enough for a "work ink". Very nice. Stikes me as similar to "blackish" Private Reserve Avacado (medium nib). :bunny01:

I filled an Aurora Optima with Iroshizuku tsuki-yo and somehow got it all over my fingers as the ink soaked through the tissue I used to wipe the nib with afterwards.

In Rotation: Parker DuoFold Centennial / Duofold / GvFC

In storage: Too many to name.

I was filling my Lamy Al-Star with Herbin Eclat de Saphir, one of my students knocked against my desk and it sloshed a bit, just enough to coat the section and my fingers. I am now a lovely shade of royal blue.

Private Reserve Burgundy Mist. It crept under my left thumbnail and stained the underside, so it looks like that nail was the victim of some horrible accident. It's not quite the color of blood, of course, but just close enough to cause a YIKES! moment when you look down.

I decided to give my Pilot Pluminix a little 'stretch of the wings' as I call it (thumbs and forefingers grip the nip and stretch the sides out a bit to get the ink flowing a bit richer) and my fingers got the old baystateblue (whispered) on them.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
