What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

Right index fingertip dipped (for lack of any clean Q-tips) in Noodler's FPH Ellis Island Blue-Black still shows black in the fingerprint whorls and ridges and under the nail...still there after the standard bit of scrubbing and I'm okay with this somehow...

"a sign that I am enlightened to a higher appreciation for writing" I'm going to use that one if that's OK with you, Brian. :clap1:Today I once again have Baystate Blue on my hands as a result of using my Noodler's piston filler. What is up with that pen?!? I love it too well to not use it even though is leaves ink all over my hands. This must be an unhealthy relationship. :gaah:

Herbin Rose Tendresse, Poussiere de Lune, and some red from an unidentified cartridge that is currently jammed in the barrel of a pen.

Natural. I use an ink remover when I'm finished. headsmack.gif

I always get a kick out of these "no affiliation" notations when it's blatantly obvious the poster has absolutely nothing to do with the brand, company, etc. beyond being a customer. It must be a feel-good/feel-important thing. So I'll note up front that nothing I write here on this forum is influenced by any financial-gain motivation.

Hints of Noodler's Purple, Black, and Legal Lapis. Busy night last night...

Best,

Today I have both hands covered in Herbin Rouge hematite as I spilled the sample I just opened all over myself :headsmack:

Good thing I don't care for the color, or I'd be seriously peeved to have spilled so much ink.

Having just cleaned out my pens, I'm now decorated in Iroshizuku Ku Jaku, Yama Budo, MB Midnight Blue and Sailor Evergreen!

I think it looks really funky but certain members of my family just stare at my hands and shake their heads in disgust!

Most of the time it's someone else's ink- from cleaning out new acquisitions. Somehow it always looks like blue-black plus red and or green, so zombie hands. After that first cleanout of the dried feed/sac/converter, my pens are well behaved and don't spit on me much.

Sometimes the cat needs a new cat toy. And sometimes I need a new pen.

Diamine Amber and Majestic Blue, as well as JH Violette Pensée. I have a nice rainbow effect going on.

Ku-jaku, 1670, and Bullet-proof Black

The liberty of the press is indeed essential to the nature of a free state; but this consists in laying no previous restraints upon publications, and not in freedom from censure for criminal matter when published. Every freeman has an undoubted right to lay what sentiments he pleases before the public; to forbid this, is to destroy the freedom of the press; but if he publishes what is improper, mischievous or illegal, he must take the consequence of his own temerity. (4 Bl. Com. 151, 152.) Blackstone's Commentaries

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
