Montblanc Soulmakers for 100 Years Limited Edition Ball Point

My husband has one of these pens which was bought for him when he left a job in 2006. Can anyone give me some background to this pen as I can't find anything out about it as it appears to have been a limited edition. He would prefer a fountain pen so I was also wondering what sort of value this pen holds.

Thanks!

It might be difficult to pin point without a little more detail. Montblanc made a few different ballpoints that were from their 100th Anniversary. It could be from the Starwalker collection, Boheme, Historic, or maybe even the Meisterstuck. A picture would be best.

~$2000 in good condition with the box and papers. Maybe a couple of hundred more if it is completely unused and still in the box.

I think it's based on a starwalker and has the diamond in the top.

Well lets see. Amazon has it at $409, so I would guess 300 for a lightly used one. I'm not too good at these estimates, so don't invest too much in my assessment.

Best of luck!

Here is a picture:

This pen is a 100th anniversary Starwalker special edition. It's not a limited edition, but limited production to the year 2006, which means, MB kept producing the pen throughout 2006 as long as stocks were sold. It retailed at around US$550, but could have been found for US$400.

Thanks Darius - most useful info. I guess it's worth looking after it then! I have told my husband to use it and enjoy, but I think he is considering selling it and possibly getting a fountain pen instead - we shall see!

I did a straight swap with this exact same pen for a new MB 149, what a great swap! The 149 is superb.

I have a 149 - indeed a very good swap! The special edition soulmaker doesn't do much for me - but the 149 is superb! A bit heavy for a lot of writing (I am a girl after all!) but I love it for notes and cards. I lust after the Greta Garbo!!

I still have this pen and my husband has decided he wants to sell it. It's brand new, never been out of the box except for me to photograph it above. I have no handle at all on it's value, so could anyone give me an idea and I'll put it into the classified and see if anyone wants it. It is a very pretty pen - but I have a 146 ballpoint I use every day which I like and other than that I use fountain pens.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
