It is very difficult question. The fact is that MB Imperial dragon is the most expensive but this is because there few pieces. Then comes the Hemigway because is the first one. It is like Lorenzo Di Medice. I believe that the best one is MB Agatha Christie. When you see the pen you feel admire and mystery. It is very nice pen.

Best regards

Gotta go with Ma0ca on this one.

I think the Hemingway ranks as the grail WE pen for many, and the Christie as it embodies so much that is the 'classic' fountain pen.

hemingway and christie for me.... speaking of the imperial dragon, i held one a couple of weeks ago; a friend had it and she didn't even know what it was, and was about to sell it to the junk shops here in manila. i have to confess to entertaining demonic thoughts....

Check out my blog and my pens

No. Price has nothing to do with it. Very strange conclusion you have drawn here.

The Agatha Christie. I saw one when they came out and never forgot it. I wasn't aware they were a series. Lovely pen.

My vote would be for the Christie and Proust after the Hemingway.

To me it is the Hemingway closely followed by the Christie, Poe, Wilde and Kafka.

Also especially the Voltaire looks much better and elegant than on pictures.

My least favorite would be the Cervantes, Schiller and Dickens. Also the Dumas seems to show too much decoration for me.

Cheers

Hi Amir....

Sorry to trouble you again, but in answer to your question:

(1) Whatever it is, it's writing quality must be first class, and...

(2) As far as "looks" are concerned, I'd buy the Proust first!

All best wishes

Mike

I pretty much agree with many of the other posters. The most desirable next to E. Hemingway would be (1) A. Christie - elegant, simple, beautiful; and (2) Oscar Wilde - at first a funny pen with a short cap. Grows on you with great plastic marbelling on the barrel combined with an interesting design. You can pick your third and fourth and fifth. After a while with so many great designs it really doesn't matter what others like, so long as its beautiful and precious to you.

Although I have no idea how to answer the original question, I bleive goodguy meant onthe aftermarket, where a higher price for a now out of production pen would indicate a higher market demand. From that perspective, his comment makes sense.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
