This is a store-specific (manager's special?) offer, when the Officeworks store a few blocks away on Pitt Street is still selling the LAMY Safari in red with Medium nib for the list price of $49.99; but I've seen evidence of select other Officeworks stores in other states offering similar discounts.

The two Pilot Prera were gone in under 24 hours. All the discounted LAMY fountain pens were still there, however, even though quite obviously someone tried to “hide” one of the Vista by moving it away from the pile in the top row and hung it right in the opposite corner at floor level.

Thanks for the heads up, @A Smug Dill - I snagged a Prera and a Kakuno for $19 and $9 respectively, at Officeworks Punchbowl, around Easter time - but when I went to my local branch in Shellharbour a week or so later, everything was full price.  Maybe some individual stores are selling off over-stocks and slow movers?

Maybe this is why the pile of unsold discounted LAMY Vista fountain pens seem to be growing.

I dropped into Officeworks after my run today to take this photo, with a view to providing an update on the availability of the discounted fountain pen models in-store.

It was only when I was cropping and resizing the photo, to make it more suitable for posting on FPN, that I noticed there's something very wrong in that picture.

I bought one of those Vista FPs earlier this year when I visited Sydney. Aside from the amusement of it being in the ballpoint packaging, it also came with a blue cartridge when the sleeve indicated black ink. At least they got the "medium tip" right — it did actually come with a medium nib. I question what happened at the factory for this level of stuff-up to occur. But hey, I'm not complaning. Worked in our favour.

Attached photos were taken June 27, 2025 at the Hunter St Sydney CBD store. It's interesting to look back and see the full RRP ($49.99) juxtaposed against the sale price ($14.00)

And this was the whole rack. Some non-FP bargains to be had on the second row, including the Lamy Logo brushed steel ballpoint ($9), the Lamy Safari rollerball ($9), and the Pilot Evolt 3-in-1 ($9)
