Congrats!

Nothing like an early Xmas gift to lift the spirit!! 😊

I know! I love them, you can select the OBBB right on the pen page online. Sebatian siad it might be a little later than November but that's okay.

There is The Origin LE100 but absolutely not in the same range price of the previous "general public" skeletons like the 90th, Blue Hour or Unicef

I figured there probably was an anniversary skeleton but I haven't been able to find pictures of it. Knowing the prices of the "general public" skeletons I would not be interested in buying but they're fun to gawk over.

I feel ya. I bought an Asvine skelly so that I can use it and pretend it’s a real one.  I tried a friend’s (blue hour-if I remember right) years ago and I was wonderful.

@Lam1 If I am not much mistaken — and that is always a distinct possibility, so please correct me — that would actually have been a discounted price because all I could find back then were $17k price points for the 1914 Coral LE333.  Jomashop offered one a few years ago for around $9495 and it seemed to have sold immediately, sans warranty, pre-owned and all.

But, it doesn’t show availability, so you might be correct that it has sold out.  Perhaps Montblanc is holding on to a couple of examples?

Oh, apparently I was mistaken. I had the distinct impression that I saw a couple of these for sale at La Couronne du Comte (the store I patronized at  the time) for about $10 K.

Of course, the reason I didn't get one is that I don't go in for the "cheap" stuff 😂!

@Lam1 Perhaps not, in which case prices like those may have contributed to the shop’s truncated longevity.

But, of course, articles for the hoi-polloi are so declassé!

As for LCdC, you may be right. But I think it was more disorganization and the fact that they opened a new big brick and mortar store, which probably was unjustifiable.

The fact is that they went belly up and took my money with them: I had paid for a Namiki emperor and never received it, due to the delay I was only able to recover about $500 via my CC. 😭

@Lam1 I am very sorry to hear this, and although, unfortunately, not an uncommon misadventure — you are definitely not alone in this painful experience — it is difficult to read nonetheless.

Thanks to @Cyrille81's suggestion, I visited the page where Montblanc presents its skeletonized 149 for the 100th Anniversary of Meisterstück. It is obviously a pen completely beyond my means, and I am not even sure that I would want to have a pen of this type, but I found the combination of gold and green very beautiful and the use of the "bridge" clip particularly suited to this unique model.

I'd be surprised if any of those pens ever touched a drop of ink (which is totally fine). Those pens are more works of art that look like pens than writing instruments. I really like the calligraphy one.

Indeed, and I always circle back to "why then a fountain pen?" because these are essentially museum pieces.

Art comes in countless mediums so why not a fountain pen?

One possibility is that such a pen makes a nice "gift" to persons in authority and power. I know of one such case where the solid gold MB carried motifs from the country in precious stones; seemingly one of a kind a made to order. Easy to conceal for the recipient and not having to report as invariably required.

I agree. I wish a 149 with italic nib with a price more affordable.

@fpupulin An apt aphorism expressed in such an artful manner graces this subforum in an incredibly beguiling manner, thanks to your elegant script, lush photography, and generosity.

Off topic, but on point regarding the link to the collector's preview - I saw the Klimt Limited 161 in Montblanc's shop in Vienna last week, and it is breathtakingly beautiful. The images do not do it justice.

Repetita juvant, the Latins used to say, by repeating them many times things get better. Here I tried to improve my "motto" from a couple of days ago, on better paper and using two of my best "masterpieces", the 149 The Origin and the 149 Calligraphy. Two Meisterstücks.
