Montblanc Store Appointment Questions

I am just dipping my toe into Montblancs. I have several of the inks now and really enjoy them. That has made me curious about getting a Montblanc fountain pen. I will be in LA at the end of the month and am planning on stopping at the Montblanc store in the Beverly Center. On the website there is an option to make an appointment. Is it worth it to make an appointment? I am serious about getting a pen but I don't want to spend much more than $1000-ish. But I would like to test the pens available to see what fits my grip. At other pen stores I have just walked in and engaged with the clerks. Does the Montblanc store work differently?

Hints, tips, suggestions?

Usually MB store is quite empty, you can just walk in and catch enough attention. They should have tester pen kit for you to try. Normally they will even allow you try POAs.

Is it worth it to make an appointment? If you try to buy a hard to find pen, such as 149 flex, you might need prepay and make an appointment. Otherwise, not necessary.

You should make an appointment if you are tight on schedule and want specific pens to try, like different nibs. Else you might find a pen you like but not with the nib size you're looking for. So make an appointment and give them time to bring the pen you would like to try to their store.
