For the completely uncolored version without paint, I am only concerned about one aspect that over time, dirt can accumulate in the recesses, which will be difficult to remove by usual cleaned by water method.

With the quality of engraving, I think a toothpick will allow removal of dirt rather easily.

OK, this is only talking by myself. I would rather have dirt accumulated and let the pen age and show it's been loved and used. But I know I am an outlier.

Shallower engraving a la vintage Montblanc, Conway Stewart, Onoto and many others.

 

Regarding blind cap, I prefer discrete pens.  No wild colours, no bling, no flags/national emblems.

I agree, I prefer the all black one. I find it attractive but unobtrusive. While writing the blind cap top will be facing towards the eyes and moving quickly, that can become very obstructive and distracting. 

 

On the other side I prefer the tiny touch of color the flag with the inscription on the side of the body would add to an otherwise all black pen, for there it does not disturb while writing but provides a nice focus of attention while the pen is at rest (kinda Marilyn's mole). It would also make it easier to identify it in dark/shadow environments where a stealth pen might blend with the background.

 

But that is just my preference. Only one among millions.

Andrew, I like the one with the flag, but I think I would also like the flag and your (red initials) mark with no other color.

 

The flag also really pops against the black background.

Seconded.  Because people would notice. And the small bit of color would then make the quiet elegance and craftsmanship of the rest more notable.

Thanks. Because my pens are artificial, of course, on individual request, I can add flag or some colors, or something else. I also ordered some Urushi lacquer to try, so I will experiment for myself a little in future))
