(Andrew Lensky) My designed and handmade fountain pens and accessories

Hi friends! Finally, I can boast of my own fully created fountain pen. Of course, I didn’t make the nib and used a standard nib unit with Germany nib, but the rest was built by me from start to end. So, welcome to viewing and discussion.

Congratulations.  A handsome classic tribute indeed.  And thank you for the long section.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Do you have an intended price range in mind?

Is it a piston or CC filler?

For now only the CC filler but with blind cap for converter knob.

Do you plan to offer it for sale?

This prototype is not for sale because it is a prototype, but I can create the same one to order. I still have material, which I think is enough for 2 pens. Not sure if I can write it here, but the price is currently $300US + shipping. The term of making is 5 days. 3 steel nibs are available - clean EF and B, and M with ornament, but any JoWo #6 nib unit can be installed if you have your own nib unit with solid gold or titanium nib.

Congratulations. To design and make a fountain pen is a big achievement. I like your design and maybe an add-on clip will be a good complement.

add-on clip will be a good

Thanks. To create a clip is need to have additional equipment: either a milling machine or laser cutter. I don't have any. I was ready to buy other manufacturing clips, but it turned out that there are only clips produced in India on the market that I don't like and I don't want to buy them. So no clips yet. By the way, I don't use any clip on any my pens, because I hold all my pens in cases))

I find it quite attractive, simple, streamlined and elegant, evocative of old times. I quite like it.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Hi @Andrew_L! That pen looks elegant - congratulations! But more important than the visuals is that you made it for your hand and customised for your writing and drawing style.

... and now, I'm looking forward to the first drawing you do with this pen ... 😇

One life!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
