Is this an authentic Montblanc pen case?

Attached is the link to the video of the leather pen case in question.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYVcYnjb8QU

Its marked 'Made in Spain' instead of Italy. I know that Montblanc did manufacture leather product outside of Italy in the early 2000.

The emblem logo is a bit strange and I have not come across one yet. The letter MONTBLANC is all in caps and break into top and bottom parts as seen in this image. Is this a legit Montblanc emblem?

Usually Montblanc uses white gloves to perform demonstration of their product but it was a blue gloves that was used! It comes with the cloth protective sleeve and the warranty booklet as shown in the video.

If its an imitation product, it is definitely a good quality one.

Can someone who is familiar with Montblanc pen case shed some light on this? Thanks.

Yes, perfectly fine, just a bit older.

With all respect, people often buy MB cases and then get paranoic. The logo is weird, the embroidery is weird, the leather is weird...

MB has been making the cases in many countries (believe me, it was not just Germany, Italy and Spain, but even some Eastern Europe countries). Some of them you most probably even have never heard of.

Overall MB cases are heavily overpriced for what they are. Above all a launched (a kind of) Florence revival is made with an awful leather and the price tag is anecdotal.

There is a lot of better cases. Pilot Somes for instance. Or a good cigar case.

Anyway, this Westside is authentic and nice.

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

I've never been a great fan of MB pen cases. The designs feel a bit dull or something. I was tempted by the Florence hard semi-cylinder case a couple of times but they mark badly and very easily so I've never actually bitten the bullet.  I haven't seen proof of it but I've been told the Westside stuff wears rather quickly. I have a croc wallet that's about four years old by them and its as good as the day I bought it. That, and a very nice Dunhill wallet are the only two that I've managed to keep in good shape for more than a year. I can be pretty hard on them.

Strange enough I was using a cigar case to carry my 146 fountain pen and mechanical pencil. I have to create lining inside the cigar case tubes to protect the pen from being scratch. The zipper and pen holder of the Montblanc pen case is what I preferred. I keep a nib cleaner inside the zipped case. Thanks for the information provided.

I used the cloth sleeve that come with the wallet to protect my alligator wallet to keep the alligator skin to stay shiny as it can getting dull quickly due to handling with oily fingers. Cheers.

I have to say that I used for several years, I mean I intensely used and abused, a Westside credit card holder, and I was absolutely surprised because it was not aging at all. I now mostly use a slimmer credit card holder, so my Westside is stored and it still looks like new! I also have a Westside single-pen pouch. I rarely use it outside, so it is in almost pristine conditions after four years now. The kind of grain typical of the Westside products reminds me of the Saffiano leather, which is known for its resistance to any abuse.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
