@Misfit Sorry to hear about the water in your basement. I have had to deal with flooded basements a few times. I used to like when it rained. No more.

And it is pouring as I type this.

My top pens

1. Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age

2. Onoto Faraday

3. Onoto Magna Ebonite

4-9. My Pelikans ( three 800s, two 805s, one 809)

In the 40 years of the time here, I think it’s flooded 4-6 times. It improved once the sewer line was fixed so the neighbor’s didn’t join in with it. That caused more problems than rain. But too much rain will find its way in. It’s dry now, and I got the trash can emptied of the water.

I do need to get the wall fixed.

We have been in our house 41 years and about 4 floods for us.

I'm sorry to hear about the leak, too, @Misfit - I had a water issue in the basement fixed last year, which required rebuilding my front stoop; but the ability to sit through a thunderstorm without worrying was worth it.

Today, still mostly using the Leonardo MZG Nocciola Cuspide with the titanium CI nib and Teranishi Nostalgic Honey, and the Parker 51 Signet with Herbin Bleu Verrerie.

@Misfit -- Yikes!  But it could be worse.  Last week someone had to take over running the practice for the amateur choir I'm in, because the choir director had a sewage backup in her basement!

Hopefully the ink cheered you up (I just looked it up online and it's definitely a bright color).

Cleaned out my M800 Demonstrator this past weekend. Today I am using it with Diamine Cool Green, which really  goes well with this pen.

That side of the basement had issues before. I-Beams were put in. The crack is between beams.

Tonight I've been using an Onoto 47 piston filler with Pelikan Edelstein Golden Lapic - such a fun ink and it works surprisingly well in this pen.  The pen itself is a bit of an odd duck for Onoto - I can't find anything about it online except other inquiries about what it might be.  Nothing in the Stephen Hull Onoto book and it's made of a very light plastic with a hooded fine nib. Might be gold, might be gold plated, but the piston works, and it says Onoto on it, so I'll just enjoy it.

I'm still using a Kaweco Perkeo Iridescent Pearl F filled with Diamine Misty Blue. It has been a constant companion since I got it. i like the way the colour changes with the light, sometimes pearly white, other times pale blue or grey.

Will work for pens...

Today, the new Majohn Flex nibs

I put one in a P136.  I'm far from an expert but It's much more controllable than my Mag 600; I don't think it can't do hairlines as well as a FPR Ultra Flex.

So far today it's been the 51 Signet, F? nib, still with vintage Quink Permanent Royal Blue.  I was going to pull out the Levenger True Writer next, but had issues refilling it (I think the converter wasn't securely on the back of the feed) and ended up with ink (Van Dieman's Mid-Atlantic) all over my hands.  And of course couldn't get downstairs to the answer the phone fast enough (my husband had called -- and apparently had texted my cell phone earlier in the day, but I JUST got the message from him while I was on the phone with him :o -- to say he's being released from the hospital at some point today, but has been told different times by different people.... :headsmack:

Also a 51 Signet with a F nib and blue ink for me (Herbin Bleu Verrerie) -- which I'll now consider an act of solidarity with @inkstainedruth and a get-well-soon to her husband!

I'm going to stick with this Conway Stewart 312 and Waterman Serenity Blue.   I wrote a thank you note with it this morning and it really enjoyed the light touch required for the EF nib.

@inkstainedruth Wishing a quick recovery to your husband. Using my Waterman Laureat Extra fine nib with disastrous Encre violette nib and my trustworthy 1979 MB 149 that I own since 20 years filled with a mix of Herbin Perle Noire and Pilot Yama Guri

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

As a backup pen I'm using a Vintage Onoto 5601 with 3/st nib and transparent barrel. Amazing nib although I have to find a replacement this has a crack by the heart shaped breather hole

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
