What pen(s) are you using today?

Today has seen me using my Montblanc Origin Classique, F, inked with Herbin Ambre de Birmanie, along with my Nakaya Dorsal Fin 2, SF, still inked with Pilot Black.

@InkyProf If I ever need a pen repairing I know who I will ask first!

For some time I had been wanting a Kaweco Sport Piston FP but couldn't justify the £130 but I was lucky to pick one up on Ebay for £85. However, the F nib it came with was too fine and too dry to enjoy writing with it. After about 4 weeks' ownership I finally plucked up the courage to [inexpertly] use my Dremel to file away the pre-formed recess on the feed so that it would accommodate a Mabie-Todd Swan #3 14ct gold nib (which has a modicum of flexibility).

The result blends the convenience of a modern piston-filler with the utter luxury of using a wonderful vintage 14ct gold nib

I'm over the moon (without the help of Artemis 2).

That is a great achievement there, well done!

I have yet to find a Kaweco without flow problems.

I recently purchased mini hacksaw blades, ground the blade thinner but not too much so I did not lose the serrations. Now I use that blade to cut that channel wider on any pen that has ink flow issues and it seems to work well.

Today, started with the Omas Extra 361C, filled with Lamy Petrol, and have now switched to a postwar grey-marbled Pelikan 100N with a fine vintage CN nib and Herbin Gris Galet. Later I'll use the Ban-Ei urushi eyedropper with Dominant Industry Romania Red, since I've found that the easiest way to work with this pen, if it's not leaving the house, is to keep the shutoff valve open and use it at least a little every day.

Kicked off the day with the Asvine J16 with J Herbin Emerald of Chivor.  I swapped the nib for a double broad Franklin Christoph SIG and it’s glorious.

So far this morning it's been the Parker Vector "Computing Services" pen, M nib, still with Organic Studios USS Constellation (the special, LE show ink from the B/W Show this spring.  But I have to write at least one check today, so for that it will be the Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue, M nib, still with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black.

Not sure yet what pen I'll be using for today's NaPoWriMo prompt -- either of those, or something else entirely....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Last night, I was over the moon; this morning I crashed back down to earth.

What, yesterday evening, had been a generous flow of ink for two sides of A5 paper, this morning showed early rail-roading that then dried up completely.

Close inspection reveals an excessive and inconsistent gap between nib and feed. I feel that more careful sculpting of a Kaweco feed might make the pair work more successfully but I probably wield my Dremel with all the finesse of a lumberjack performing neurosurgery!

I am really liking Turquoise. I think I might like the Lamy Turquoise better than Monteverde Caribbean Blue, but this is certainly a nice ink.

An Italian morning, for good and ill: using a SAFIS "The King" pearl green piston-filler, late 1940s?, fine or extra-fine Astura Nova 14k nib, filled with Stipula Calamo Musk Green, while trying to find out why an eagerly anticipated package from Italy has gone astray.

I let the outdoors choose my ink colour from my inked pens today, and it chose a Jinhao 82 mini M inked with Diamine Overcast.  This little pen was a Xmas gift from a pen friend, as was the ink. It’s been a delightful writer so far.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
