Wow...it's been a whole season plus since I've posted any reviews.
Best to get back at it then!
;)

Thanks for the review, @Detman101!  That's a very muted color - at least, it is on my screen.  Lots of grey.  I think it's one I'd have to see in person to decide on - subtle inks are that way. :) Your flexy stub idea sounds interesting - and challenging!

Oh yes indeed, it is a true sepia tone. It's like a washed out muted chocolate teddy-bear brown. I love it!!
I started out with a sample of "Kobe - Nada Brown" from this past spring...and omg is that ink so lusciously lubricated and warm!
I ordered a sample of this "Shioya Vintage Sepia" ink based on my experiences with the Nada Brown.

Yes indeed, I've been through the wringer with my SODF nib and having to constantly realign the tines due to how I write bending the left tine more than the right.
I've settled on using an oblique 1.1 stub that I ground myself. It appears to be working out swimmingly soooo...I'm thinking that I need an oblique 1.1 flexy stub.
I tried buying a flexy stub from FPNibs in Spain and it's a wet noodle...not what I need.
So...I'm going to try custom ordering one from "Pen Realm" (Not the SODF stub nib) that is a 1.1 stub with minimal flex and ground to LH-Oblique.
I'm sure I'll have to send it back to him a few times to incrementally grade the light flex up to what I need, but it will be worth the time, energy and money to get exactly what I need. Who knows...Kirk may get it right on the first shot...but I'd rather start with too-little flex added...than getting what Pablo C. sent that's just a weak-kneed-wet-noodle flexy stub that's just way overboard and not what I requested.
If Kirk can't make what I need...i'll make it myself. 😜

Yay! Detman is back! No more Depeche Mode?

Great review

Yeaaaaaaah...I'm back hehe. I've got many more inks to review from a recent Vanness order.
"Penbbs - Out of the Clouds" (A beauuuuutiful "Ama-Iro" clone...and CHEAP!)

"Penbbs - Snow Pine" (A green ink of some sort...unsure what color it really is til reviewed)

"Penbbs - Vernal Equinox" (Appears to be a reddish yellowish tan of some sort...like the sun setting, according to the Vanness website)

I'll definitely have more Depeche Mode quotes coming for those reviews 😉

Love the colour! Thank you for showing it so well. One more ink to add to the must-have list 😉

Awesome, glad to hear you like it!
It's a beautifully lubricated and silky smooth greyish brown sepia that appears to change tone and appearance in different lights.
I've looked at the review sheet in sunlight and gotten more of the brown, while under artificial light it appears more grey.
Amazing ink!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
