It's a great pen, with a semi-flex stubbed nib. When posted it is as greatly balanced as a posted 400, and as long.

The cap is a bit longer than other of the then popular German medium-small pens of that era. ...which gives it it's great balance.

I don't count a pen as "got" until it's inked and tested.  So the maroon ripple ebonite FPR CT Himalaya V2 stub, which got filled with the last of the Lamy Dark Lilac sample Amber gave me, is now counted as "arrived."

Now, if only it'd write for more than a couple lines before starving itself of ink...

A disassembly with thorough cleaning of the feed and flossing the ink slit with sheet brass, and CHANGING INKS (I loaded it with FPR Blue-Black) like I'm always telling everybody can remedy a whole host of pen problems, has made this into a very nice pen.  In fact, it's being nicer than its Saffron Yellow acrylic sibling, which got filled with MontBlanc-Simplo Black with SuperCleaner SC21 (in the "space capsule" bottle).  Lamy Dark Lilac is not the ink for the maroon ripple Himalaya V2.  It remains to be seen as to which other inks will suit it.

better-acquainted with this pen

Got my Uranagi nib back from the inestimable Matthew Chen and have been writing with the pen for a few days now. In general I like it. I find it's a bit awkward to write with when posted - it's very long - so I generally leave the cap on the table, where cats continue to find it a-MAZE-ing. The pen is definitely larger in diameter than the pens I prefer, but there's a sweet spot where my grip and default writing angle intersect perfectly with the section so it's comfortable to hold and to write with for extended periods.

Shawn did a stellar job with this pen and I'm fortunate to have won it at the Dallas Pen Show. I'll be happy to sidle up to his vendor table any time to see what begs to come home with me.

Today I received a Delta Duna in Oasis (blue marble) and a Fine Flex steel nib, which I received (I chose from their stock) as compensation from Yafa for them having lost a pen I sent to be repaired*. It is a piston filler, and I filled it with J. Herbin Rouge Grenat for no particular reason except that I'm trying to use up my 10 ml J. Herbin bottles.

I've only written with it a little, but I can say that I like the piston action, it seems firm but not difficult to turn the knob; the nib is quite smooth and wet, but I find very little actual flex happening when I write. There is some line variation, but a casual observer would be forgiven for not recognizing it as "flex" writing. It should be in rotation among my inked pens pretty soon.

*note to self, and advice to anyone who doesn't do it: I have sent dozens of pens at different times to different places in the US, and up to now have never had a problem with delivery, but this may be the first time I have sent to (what I presume is) a larger location that has a front desk or mail room for deliveries. The tracking said the pen had been delivered, and I neglected to email to the recipient at Yafa to make sure they had received the pen a day or two later, allowing time for the delivery to percolate to the intended recipient. Had I done this in a timely manner, they would have had a much better chance of tracking down the missing pen. It was still their responsibility, of course, not to lose the pen, but I could have helped. Anyway, they made it good without prompting, for which I am grateful.

I got one of my grails today, an introduction to Japanese Urushi pens on Urushi Day. I grew up in a house decorated in Chinoiserie, this pen reminds me of the laquered and decorated furniture of my childhood. I received a used Levenger True Writer in Amethyst demonstrator with B nib. It came as advertised with ink in the cap. I’ve got the nib and barrel clean. The cap is a work in progress.

Thank you! To have this box on my desk after so long is such a pleasure. I have to test the nib to make sure it’s working properly, then put it away for Xmas.

Thanks! It’s meant to go under the Xmas tree, although my husband did tell me that I’m an adult and don’t have to wait if I don’t want to. I’m not sure if I will hold out, time will tell.

Well, let's see.  It's 6 weeks... could feel like an eternity.  But there's a BUT.  A short testing period is a prerequisite.  You have to make sure everything's working properly.  So You  pop in a cartridge, test it out for a day or so, then pack it up and put it under the tree and Bob's your Uncle......  Oh wait, you've thought of that already...... 😁👍

Hi MzFit

I've been following your adventures with the cap.  How's it coming?  I'm not up on all my posts but the last thing I remember is that you were giving it an ultrasonic treatment.....

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
