Looking forward to receiving this one!

Today, I worked on two very cool and early Lamys of the collection of my friend. The piston mechanics of both is somewhat complicated to dismantle, but with a special tool I made it worked quite well. Both got a new cork seal and are now like new:

I too like clips but, Pelikan clips.

It is significant that Pelikan clips have big resemblence to each other through out their product line-up. Nice.

Arvind.

Clips are extremely important, functionally and esthetically! I am a ball clip addict!25491990913_66061a5134_b.jpg

Hello Christof! Greetings!

Nice nib point. Hope to see some written samples. Looks to be a stub nib from the given angle.

What was the pen you traded for?

Regards,

Arvind.

here comes the writing sample. the tip actually IS "stubbish"

Sunday morning still life:32543441886_fb18f508e8_h.jpg

Cold outside....cup of tea and some vac repair jobs.

C.

Christof!

That's a great workplace. Spending time with pen repairs on a Sunday gets a big bow.

Best,

Arvind.

Best regards,

What is that great yellow/blue folding box?

A shot that reveals the inner mind ...

You have a good eye for things desing...

This is a "MEWA Toolbox" from the 1960's, designed by: Wilhelm Kienzle and manufactured by MEWA, Switzerland.

The Mewa boxes are part of the collection of the Museum of Design Zurich. Have a look at here:

Of course I didn't pay ridiculous collectors prices, I got mine from the fleamarket.

Since I have reduced my pen tools to the absolute minimum, I am storing them in this box which is very practial to carry pens, tools and parts from the kitchen to the worshop and back to the photostudio...

I can't recall how long it has been since I used one of those classic erasure shields. Brings back memories of map making in the Army and then the Forest Service.

Ok, now I have to go into my college drafting supply box (a modified fishing tackle box) and find my erasure shield...hmm, might find some nice pentel pencils in there too tonight--I had forgotten it sitting there on the shelf.

Thanks for the design reference, Christof.

Who can resist Kienzle's little green cactus watering can from 1935 ...

Not to mention, it was a very popular song of the day ...

I know this is about a designer, not a pen. But I find it hard to separate the topics.

PS

Also, the Comedian Harmonists. But that really is another story.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
