M101 N Piston Assembly.

Was getting stiff after nearly 9 years since purchased new. Homemade 7.8mm spanner. LH threads.

 

 

 

 

Another way to do is from nib unit end. Easy access and no tools needed. But I prefer to remove the filler on pens its possible on and grease the seal walls. Ymmv.

 

Hope the pics help someone else attempting DIY.

After my 101N Lizard 'came apart (I did send it back to Pelikan) I realised that the piston would unscrew. An old credit card with a notch of the right size works as well as a spanner.

very true, I made a similar tool earlier before switching to a Fountainbel made spanner for my m800/m1000

My M101N Lizard also screwed it self apart recently when I was cleaning it. I ended up using some dial calipers as a wrench to put it back together. Making a wrench would have been better and I expect if I was disabling instead of putting it back it would have been needed more.

 

Congrats on making something. It's too bad the TWSBI wrench didn't work, but I expect it could be modified to work. If the caliper hadn't worked I was going to modify a plastic card like the good captain did.
