How To Identify Bock And Jowo Nibs?

Suppose I have a pen of an unknown brand which I know comes with either JoWo or Bock nibs that are customly engraved (not the usual Bock or Jowo engraving). I know how to unscrew the nib section from the pen. But how to identify that it is a Bock or Jowo nib?

The stock housings and feeders are very distinct so easy to identify.

 

If you just have the nibs without housings or branding, there are subtle profile differences which can hint at the origin.

My bad, I should have attached some pictures to the post. I have a Faber Castell nib which people widely say that it's a Jowo nib, but I would like to know which distinct hardware features it has compared to a Bock nib.

It's a Jowo #5.

 

Often when the big companies have nibs made up just for them, they'll have slightly different feeds or housings made up too.

Here's a Jowo 5 next to a Bock 5.

The Bock 180 and 060 are both considered # 5 (same housings and feeds) the one just has a longer nib.

Bock housings have notches top and bottom; Jowo either side.

Jowo housings have a flat spot at the bottom inside of the housing; Bock have a relief curve at the inside top.

Bock nibs are a little softer than Jowo.
