Help Whether This Is Fake Or Legit

Greetings for fellow FPN members here,

This is my first post in the Montblanc sub-forum and am asking for your help / advice on a product I just procured.

I just bought a bottle of a claimed to be Montblanc Racing Green. The seller only said Montblanc Green but when I saw the ad photo showing it to be racing green on the box I decided to take a punt for it.

Now, based on the photos do you think that the ink is legit or is there a chance that this is a fake?

Any inputs are appreciated!

The boxs looks legit, the bottle looks legit, the ink? Impossible to tell unless you do a side by side with known ink. Even then, who knows.

And looking at the posting means nothing as there is no color consistence from one computer to the next.

Bottom line - if you like the color (I don't), why worry.

Everything looks fine. The bottle, the box, and the era are correct and the color looks fine, though maybe a bit light. Could just be the swan. No red flags.

Definitely a genuine bottle - though, as others have pointed out, who knows what's inside? It's a much copied colour.

Personally, I'd say: it looks right. So fingers crossed, it's the genuine article inside and out!

Charles Rice said it best: Who cares, as long as you like it.

Nice find. Enjoy it in good health.

Thanks for all the help from the members here.

I was interested in the ink due to the swabs online and was not sure of the one I bought . Some swabs are lighter (which matches the swab I have hence I asked the forum), some are dark, probably the paper used for that swab really plays a part. Note , I am using a Maruman Mnemosyne for the swab.

Nice thing to know that the packaging seems to be the genuine article.

The packaging looks about right. The visual result on paper can be influenced by the pen, nib (or swab), flow of ink to the nib and paper, and the paper itself.

I've been buying a fair amount of Parker Penman inks recently. I pay only "medium" prices, nothing too high, and I try to "buy the seller" as well as buy the items. This means taking a look (if one is on an auction site) at their sales history and sometimes emailing and asking questions.

INK (noun): A villainous compound of tannogallate of iron, gum-arabic and water,

chiefly used to facilitate the infection of idiocy and promote intellectual crime.
