Subbu, the light green ebonite looks good, is it Indian rod or Nikko etc?

Indian only.. Loyally Loyal :-) Good old Loyal Ebonites.

The thing which I liked the most in ASA Maya is the grip section. It is perfect for me. Sharing some Maya of my Maya 😬

I have quite a few Indian pens (ASA, Lotus, Ranga, Ratnam etc) but this was my first group buy experience. I got three gorgeous ASA Maya's in Red (Glossy Finish), Teal (Matte Finish) and Orange (Matte Finish). Two of them have been threaded for Jowo and the Teal has been threaded for Bock so I am currently experimenting with Kanwrite nibs. The Teal in Matte Finish is so far my favorite. Its very nice to the touch and very well balanced! An absolute joy to write with. Wishing ASA pens and Subbu all the best for upcoming new launches.

fpn_1531127876__asa_maya_2.jpgHi All,

sharing above image of the pens i bought during the recent group buy..

i love ebonite pens and this group buy allowed me to add couple of beauties in my pen wardrobe.. the ebonites in the images are teal blue in matt finish ( i adore ) and the orange one in polish.. the nibs in both the pen is Kanwrite B nib unit . i intend to self grind the nibs to architect grind.. ( dont know when will that happen )..

overall nice pens with an ergonomic section .. wish the polish and the trim quality along with clips can be bettered.. looking forward to another group buy in future..

regards

Yusuf Pardawala

Congratulations ASA Pens for bringing such beauties to life.

Group Buys are being organised regularly but I seem to miss them. Can anyone inform about the platform where these are organised and further request to post a link to the platform.

  • 3 weeks later...

I bought a stock Maya with the matte black ebonite late last year and I really like it, but now I'm jealous of these glossy ones!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
