Well, I don’t know, what I should say. It is not a super heavy pen, not al all (31g inked). The extra six gram are just more located at the end of the pen, letting it rest a bit mor heavily between thumb and index finger. Not necessarily more secure or with less movement since I explained earlier that it provides a bit more swing int writing movement. I suggest to check this out in a MB boutique. If you have access to an Ultra Black Test this one - it will be the same. I mean, it is not dramatic difference between this one and a regular Meisterstück but as I said, after a while writing with the top heavy filler like the Le Petit Prince the more balanced pens feel more “fiddly”. I can not describe it better, I am sorry. I hope you get my point?

Well, I don’t know, what I should say. It is not a super heavy pen, not al all (31g inked). There was never any idea that it might be a massive silver pen like the 2009 Patron of Art Oppenheim.

Yet the top heavy difference you've described is appealing.

After a four and a half month wait, my Blue Hour LeGrand with an OM nib arrived yesterday. Haven't had a chance to ink it yet.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I have got that box as well - it is nice but not produced anymore as far as I know. So only available from stock...

And the UNICEF - I knew you could not resist ;)

 

My Hamburg Dealer told me that they are still made...not sure...I have your info as well though from a different reseller

Just got this in the mail. A 50s 146 in excellent cosmetic shape with an OBB nib. The nib is a little scratchy and skippy, will send it in to Greg or Mike for a closer look. I think it may need a re-tipping.

Nice pen, the tipping looks good to me.

Thanks. It's pretty scratch and skippy. The tines look aligned too. Maybe it just needs a thorough flush. Will do that tonight.

I have a few OBs and OBBs, they are all exceptional writers. This one writes well (when it writes) but skips very frequently. Maybe the feed it clogged and unable to keep up with the nib.

 

Agree the tipping looks fine in the photos. Look with a loupe to see if there is any pitting on the writing surface. Maybe it just needs a little smoothing?

Also, this is not meant to offend, but are you used to writing with an oblique? If not, a little practice may be all you need.

How much was the nib exchange?

 

The nib on my Christie is a M, but is a little too fine and could do with some work... rather than have it attended to by a nib worker, I might just have MB exchange it for something different.

I think no to the retipping. Maybe just an adjustment of the nib. The nib looks practically perfect.

About a week ago I was working in my office and minding my on business, at around 1:00 am, when my wife comes in saying that she spotted someone selling a 1912 with 3 other pens. So, this happened:

146 Rollerball, which came with the 1912 (and I have absolutely no interest in it)

 

The Blue Hour, with an OB nib, I had received a couple of days before.

Thanks! I'll ship it to Mike or Greg and ask them to fix the nib. It looks perfect under a loupe too. Hopefully they can fix the nib or feed issues.

It happened to have the same number with both 4810 and 888, how could I not to take them home together? Besides the 888 doesn't look like just an upgraded version but like a whole new one.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
