Mb Generation Repair

Hi , I am a MB Generation lover. But unfortunately my pen section was broken. So got it fixed from externally from a non-MB reputed pen repair person.

But now the new problem is the ring which fixes the cap to body came undone. Tried pushing it but probably the lock is lost and its now more protruding. have fixed the ring with strong adhesive. But now the problem is the cap just doesn't shut totally.

Dont want to buy another pen. Where to find a new pen section for MB generation.

The bit that is circled in red has too much adhesive around it for the cap to fit onto the pen properly. The solution is to sand down the adhesive until the section is exactly the same as it was pre-adhesive. Then the cap will fit once more. :)

Also, the section doesn't screw into the threads far enough. If there is adhesive on the threads to, that's the reason there is also a gap there. :(

This pen is in a mess. :( For me it would need a new section. -_- eBay might be the only place to find one.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes. The best way seems to be replacing the section.

Unfortunately, the adhesive that I tried is too strong and finding it very difficult to sand down.

So will be searching for new pen ( even if of different colour) section.

This B nib is one of the smoothest that I own.

One request. If you come across any such MB Generation FP section, please provide me the link.

Thanks

Ebay or put an ad in the parts classifieds here for want to buy a Generation section. Then patience will be needed, because it might take some time for a Generation section to come up for sale. Then it might be an interesting color.

An anecdote will explain. I have a burgundy MB 144 that needed a new section. I found a green section from a Nicolai. To replace the broken cap I used a Parker 45 cap, which fit perfectly. It's franken, but it works. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Black is probably more common for the Generation than the other colors, but I know of red, green, blue and yellow as well, and who knows what color section might be on offer?
