For those of you with the Montblanc Sartorial Hard Shell Pen Pouch, what are your thoughts on it?

I have yet to see one in the MB boutiques and I'm curious about it. I'm looking for a new pen pouch for my MB Ultra Black 146 Fountain Pen.

Thanks.

I got to play with some leather cases at the boutique in The Venetian earlier this week. Sadly they only had the one-pen pouch with the Sartorial (hard leather) model. The Extreme case looks nice but if I wanted another soft leather case I'd just buy a much, much cheaper Pelikan one. I would snatch up a Sartorial one in a heartbeat though.

About a month ago I tried the Sartorial hard shell pouch in the Montblanc Boutique. My favourite part of the pouch is that the 'seperators' go all the way so the pens won't be rubbing against each other. However, the compartments are a bit small for any oversized pens like the 149. I think it would fit your 146 well.

Thanks. I actually own an Extreme case. I use it to hold 2 Starwalkers. The case is nice but I agree with you on getting a less expensive case.

I have also had my eyes on these cases -- via the MB website -- but they are not yet available at my local boutique.

I too have not yet found the hard Sartorial cases locally. Hope they come in soon.

That's good to know about the 'separators' and the compartment size. Would like to try my 146 in one before purchasing. I like the idea of a hard case since this will go into my work bag that has tons of other items in it. Just want to protect the 146 as best I can. Thanks.

So I finally found a Sartorial hard shell pouch at the MB boutique. I liked the hard shell (vs my current soft pouch) and decided to purchase it.

Here is the Sartorial (the blue case on the left) vs my soft pouch (black case on the right):

Here is the pouch opened up:

You can't really see the interior from my iPhone pics, but the interior is a very soft microfiber lining. My Ultra Black 146 fits snuggly in the pouch:

Overall, I'm very pleased with the MB Sartorial Hard Shell Pen Pouch. It offers a hard shell that I feel will better protect the pen especially when tossed in your bag or jacket pocket. Now to find the 2 pen version of this case.

Very nice, not sure if a coincidence, but, I am looking for the same case, in the same colour for the same pen :)

Almost all my MB leather products are in black. When I saw the Sartorial pen pouch in indigo, I had to get it to add some color to the collection. I also thought about the red one as I saw it online but the boutique didn't have it.

The pen pouch is very nice. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I like it so much that I'm looking for the 2 pen version.

Hello everyone, I tried to use a nice red sartorial but was deceived to see that even 146 size models (in my case, a platinum 147) ar difficult to pick up from the case. The pouch looks designed for 145s more than bigger ones.

I agree that the 146 can be difficult to pick up from the Sartorial pen pouch when the pouch is new. It is a snug fit. However with usage, I have found that it gets easier to pick up the 146 from the pouch. I hope it'll be the same for you.

I still really like the pouch.

I have a tiny zip one made for the mozart, I kind of hate it because the zippers can scratch the pen when pulling it in and out, but the boutique I went to didn't have any other style of pouch available for the Mozart. In retrospect, I should have just bought a regular pouch without the zippers.

I have the two pen Sartorial hard shell case. It's quite roomy inside, fits two 146s comfortably. Another nice thing about the two pen case is that the top half of the pens are exposed when the flap is open so it's quite easy to remove the pens. The padded divider is removable for easy cleaning.

I would rather go and buy a brand new one in a boutique :D

It would be $107 to me.

I haven't seen new ones like this offered.

There was a hard case "cigar tube" one for sale here awhile ago and it went pretty high.

(It was in a wine color & had a crocodile pattern)

Here is another one for $350

I'm hoping to pick this up soon. Would love to use it with my 146 and a Visconti traveling ink pot for my business trips.

What's the diameter of the traveling inkwell?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
