What's Your Favourite Looking Montblanc?

Really hope to get a 13x pen someday with the sexy stripes. I have been attracted to it ever since seeing it in a video featuring Eurobox.... The telescoping piston sounds rather interesting, and I prefer flat-tops to cigar pens.

I also want to try a Rouge et Noir and a 1912. Or even a Poe and a Hemingway!

Upon closer inspection, the clip is interesting with those curves. It may be divisive but I can see the appeal.

The picture does not pay it justice - I must take a better one some time. The yellow gold works so well on this classic shape in combination with the black parts and the engravings are simply beautiful.

But as I said, one of many favs...

I agree the skeleton is gorgeous. Would love to see one inked.

Always loved the John Harrison but it's way beyond reach for me:

Hoping I'll be able to get a JFK later this year or early next year:

John Harrison is another stunning skeleton MB example. What would one of these cost?

I wouldn't mind having a JFK at all. I like the one in blue.

Hi all. One of my favorite (impossible to get pen) is the 75 years skeleton. But, a more possible-to-get pen actually is the Moon Pearl.

The 75 Years Skeleton. Another beautiful skeletonized Montblanc.

Will have to see one live next time I'm at the boutique. I don't think pictures can quite capture that mother of peal in all it's glory.

Since I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, I will show the Proust some love. This is my favorite MB and it comes everywhere with me :happycloud9:

My favorite vintage MB that I unfortunately do not own is the 126PL. (photo is from Pen Cluster)

Is that a vermeil Version of the Proust or light effects on the regular one?

I'm really drawn to the Solitaires in silver pinstripe pattern. either the Doué or the complete one.

I think the bottom one maybe the 'wedding' pen ? The cap ring looks wider than standard indicating you can unscrew it.

Hi Axis,

It's the regular version of the Proust, but I played with the lighting and colors to pair it better with the underside of the double tour strap. The Cape Cod and the Proust are my favorite everyday watch and pen :)

Ps Thank you for sharing a photo of the filled Axis Mundi. Like Nathan I had never seen an AM filled before and the effect of the ink through the skeleton is mesmerizing!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
