Eagle Inc: Blue/black Ink (Powder)

I bought a little glass pot of this ink powder from a local antique dealer about a year or so back and have been monkeying with different concentrations. It's a versatile ink depending on how dark you want it to be. I have always mixed it in small plastic needle bottles with distilled water (other than the time I used tap water as an experiment, which resulted in an odd green tint to the ink).

It dries well, lubricates well, and has a unique look.

I live in AZ where the tap water is nothing short of... disgusting. It's allegedly potable. I wonder what my tap water would turn your ink - something beyond green.

 

Your scan is very blue. Do you have more description of the ink's color? I love blue inks.

Try using the Upload function up at the top of this page. Or, add any image uploaded e.g. with Photobucket or Flickr, using the "Image" button in the middle of the screen bar, to the right of B, I, and U. That's better than using the Attachment function (offered at the bottom of the page of a new Topic or Reply you would post), although the Attachment feature does work well. Attachments here are limited in number so that sooner or later, you would have no more space or have to remove some. Both that Upload or Attachment way of adding any picture will do it better than what you are using. No harm meant, but for visualization of any ink color, the paper has to end up more or less white (at most yellow)... especially to avoid a blue on blue....
